After all the hype and targeted ads on social I finally succumbed to purchasing a TRTL pillow for a long 12 hour flight where I really needed good quality sleep.

I found the pillow uncomfortable and hurt my ears and in the end stopped using it. Such a disappointment after all the hype on of the online sales pitch.

Thanks for the response and for taking the feedback onboard. As a parent, I’m not sure I’d want to go rummaging in a 10 year olds backpack for the pillow and couldn’t honestly be sure it wouldn’t have been removed to accommodate other more ‘critical items’.
At least if it was in a bag attached to the outside if might have a chance of surviving the cut, haha.

I have just used my chin rest on a long haul flight to South Africa and it was simply fantastic. So comfy and the scarf kept my neck beautifully warm. I had a wonderful sleep

Purchased a TRTL Plus at the beginning of the month for a long trip (16 hour flights there and back).

Positives:

- It's well made, the fabrics are soft and comfortable and the mechanism is well made, inspired confidence.
- It's relatively lightweight and has a smaller footprint than a typical neck pillow.

Negatives/not positives:

- User experience will vary but in my case wearing this and a pair of noise canceling headphones was impossible. The brace pushes again the underside of the headset which means you can't wear cans. Inner buds don't work either as pressure on the underside of the ear popped out my buds on three occasions (nearly lost one down the side of the chair). Trying to sleep without noise canceling headsets is near impossible for me so that is a negative.
- You can't easily adjust them mid sleep. You pick a side and that's it. I found myself swapping sides during the flight which meant reapplying the wrap. An inconvenience at minimum.
- The wrap creates a lasting pressure on the side of the opposite side of neck that becomes progressively uncomfortable. Needed to constantly adjust to get a comfortable position.
- It takes a while to set the TRTL up for comfort. Unlike a neck pillow that goes on with minimal adjustments.

I really wanted to like this product but for a long haul flight, this isn't it. In the end I got more rest from the airline provided pillow. I think on a shorter flight (in the 6-8 range) this would be a good option but anything longer than 10 hours I'd recommend a neck pillow.
