Eqi transfer to interactive investor
Absolute shambles. I still cannot get access to ii. EQi will do nothing. Their hello help line did not answer my emails for weeks. Now they have suddenly started answering to say that the account is now closed with EQi and they are unable to assist. So before the account was closed they did nothing and now they say that all they can do is nothing.

The transfer of shares from Equiniti to Interactive investor has not happened, my new accounts are in interactive investor but are empty and status is ‘closed’ …..around £38,000 in shares are missing.
The safe custody of assets is the principle job of an asset manager…….

There is no acknowledgement or communication from either side of the issue beyond standard responses to investigate within seven weeks.
If you were in this situation would you consider that response, that level of service appropriate?

Absolute disaster! I can't get into my new account with interactive investor. Rang ii and though they are guarded with what they will tell it is obvious that Eqi have passed partial information such that ii had immense trouble identifying me. Also it seems like my shares have been "lost" in the transfer.
For the reviewer above with the same problem: get ii to send you an email address request form to your registered address as this will allow you to regain your new account and find whatever rubbish username eqi has incorrectly tacked onto your account.
To eqi pr team- your transfer team are incompetent and if eqi have "lost" my shares i will be wanting compensation.

Thank you for your quick reply.
I have already done all of what you suggest unfortunately the ii phone team are not able to help me directly as the Eqi transfer team have not done their job properly. ii are going to have to send me a form by post to collect the details Eqi failed to provide them with - hopefully then I will be able to get into my new account and find out whether Eqi has actually "lost" my shares or not. Perhaps you could tell me who I need to complain to at Eqi for compensation for this disaster.

"EQi to ii transfer problems"
My username wasn't recognised at ii, so I called ii. "Nothing we can do, please call EQi." EQi didn't answer my 10 calls.. so I sent them a secure message. The reply was: "Nothing we can do, please call ii." What terrible service at EQi.
UPDATE: Wasn't taking any chances.. sold all my positions and BACS transferred the balance out before the deadline. Took a hefty loss on shares newly bought, but well worth it to break free from this ineptitude.

"Sold my funds without permission"
I tried to transfer funds to another provider back in March. They took so long that it got caught up in their sale of my account to Interactive Investor, no doubt deliberately because it was the deal they had negotiated. They have ignored my requests. They still haven't transferred the funds and now they have locked me out of my account with them claiming it is now the responsibility of Interactive Investors. But the money is still with EQi. These people are so incompetent, if not worse, they shouldn't be allowed to operate.

"Does not comply with basic direct debit security requirements"
As has been noted by other commenters, direct debit payments into EQi are being refused because (according to my bank when I contacted them) EQi are not following the correct security procedures for direct debits - if that is the case, then this security failing is simply unacceptable for a modern financial services firm. I complained a week ago via the secure messaging system and have received no response. As I cannot add funds, I cannot trade and have already missed a number of investment opportunities. I am now actively seeking an alternative provider - one that can provide a reliable system and responsive customer service.

The response I got from EQI about the transfer of my Accounts to ii last week, when it was impossible to login, have today said that as my accounts had now been transfered they c/would not help! Nice one! Leave doing anything until after the transfer and then wash your hands of things!!!!!!!!!! I now have no access to my accounts to trade, withdraw or anything else.
Eqi should bear in mind that their customers might have other accounts (in my case substantial) through SIPP providers - what do they think will happen to these ones, which you have not transferred as they have higher fees? This sums up the sort of company Eqi have become or perhaps always were!

My account with EQI cannot be accessed, my login will not work, no funds have beeen received by Interactive Investor.
Usual service no response from EQI or II.
why do we bother with either????
