Andrew was amazing at making the DD course interactive and interesting. It was extremely easy to follow and Andy was completely non-judgemental and friendly throughout the entire process. I suprisingly found the course very interesting and feel much more confident for the future now. Thanks once again Andy.

"Review of IAM RoadSmarts response! "

Last week, I placed a 1 star review on Trustpilot (please see my previous review). Within hours, I received a reply from IAM RoadSmart. On the strength of their response, and on the same day, I emailed the CEO, Company Secretary and Feedback of IAM RoadSmart with the following:

I placed a review of IAM RoadSmart on Trust Pilot and received the following reply:

We are truly sorry to hear about your husband’s experience.



We understand your concerns regarding the investigation and the decision made.

We strive to follow our procedures diligently and regret if you felt this was not reflected in your husband’s case.



We have a robust feedback process if you would like to share more formally.



Thank you for bringing this to our attention.’

Firstly, I am perplexed as to why this appears to be ‘new news’ to IAM RoadSmart when this has been an ongoing situation for the past two years.
We both know that IAM RoadSmart do not follow their procedures diligently and do not adhere to their own policies or charity governance.

Please advise how I can access your robust feedback to share more formally, without the need to go through the painful processes you have subjected on my husband. I will continue to steadfastly support him in order to ensure that his innocence is acknowledged.

One week later, I have heard nothing from IAM RoadSmart. I have not even had the simple courtesy of an acknowledgment of my email, let alone any information. It certainly confirms my opinion that they have no desire to do the right thing, which is appalling for a charity of this size.
So much for “We have a robust feedback process if you would like to share more formally”.

To quote one of their own five core values - ‘We do what we say we will and act with the highest standards of ethics and integrity’. I think not.

Following a recent post regarding the expulsion my husband from IAM, they replied that I should contact them to discuss the matter. I have sent two emails, but I have not even received an acknowledgement from them. Why don’t IAM want to talk to me about the failings, mistakes and cover-up highlighted in a recent external review of this case. The review found that IAM had no proof to back-up the accusations against my husband, they simply took the word of one vindictive individual and disregarded their own policies, procedures and governing document. An innocent man has had to endure bullying and victimisation, which has been damaging to his health and reputation. It is time for IAM to stop this cover-up and come clean about their failings. As Marcus Tullius Cicero said, “Any man can make mistakes, but only an idiot persists in his error”.

I have, the teacher of the course is very helpful she really explains every point of view and made sure everyone feels comfortable. I have found the course really useful and I’m glad I have had the opportunity to do this because I feel so much better about the situation now. I felt really depressed and like I was such a let down to everybody including myself, now coming onto the course I have been able to share my feelings and it’s been nice to be able to share with people who have been through the same things and how other people have found other ways to deal with it and other things to do in the time of being at home a lot and not having the independence. I have taken from this course all the different units between alcohol, the amount of timing to leave yourself after drinking and the wheel of change, this things have really stood out to me and been very helpful. I definitely see a change in my relationship with alcohol after this course
