"Data Service Did Not Work At All"
If you want to spend your $$ on something that does not work, then go for it. I deleted my original review from about a month ago. I generously gave them 3 stars based on a 1 day test case in the USA. Performance was poor but it did connect. It was "good enough" so I decided to buy 2 eSIMs for Latin America coverage to use during our 7 day cruise to Central America. I required coverage while in ports in Mexico, Belize, and Honduras. Holafly verified support in those countries.
The process is to install the eSIM before you leave. Afterwards, it is supposed to connect when in the coverage area purchased. Easy enough to do. Problem is there is no way to actually test the connection if you are not in the region you purchased.
When we arrived in each of the ports, both phones would connect to a local mobile company but there was no data connection. Yes I verified I was using the right eSIM and data was enabled on that eSIM.
We were without critical coverage for 7 days and that is absolutely not acceptable.
With no data connection and no voice connection, there is no way to work with them to resolve the issue so customer service is not an option unless you want to pay roaming charges which negates the point of using their product. Even if there were a way to communicate with Holafly support, who wants to waste valuable vacation time dealing with problems?
As a side note, I was willing to pay the slightly higher price for their Global eSIM so I could test it before going to Latin America. You would assume a product advertised as GLOBAL would include all the countries included in their regional eSIMs. Not the case. There are many countries not included from each region. So it is far from a GLOBAL eSIM.
Unfortunately I am done attempting to use this product. Test 1 in the USA last month was slow and barely usable. Test 2 in Latin America was a complete failure. Glad I found out before our extended trip later this year. I say save your money. It is not even close to being a reliable solution.
They refunded my money after reading my review. That's a positive. That does not change the fact that I bought something that I was depending on for communication and it did not work in any of 3 of their partner countries.
I wish I could same something positive but I can't. When something is too good to be true it probably is.
