We called Abbott-Wade and within a week Ray came over to give us some initial ideas and options. We were not fully decided on which finish in terms of colour and whether we were going to opt for a wooden handrail or in fact a stainless steel one (which is what we eventually went for). However, thanks to Ray, he gave us so many examples and sent many pictures as well as leaving us the samples that allowed us to make an informed decision. Ray was with us every step of the way and was so helpful on the phone, in person and through text messages via WhatsApp. At no point at all was Ray pushy and trying to force a sale through, he was more interested in making sure we were happy and were going to choose something that we really would be over the moon with once it was done. We had other companies, both local and national come to give us a price and go through their samples but Abbott Wade was not only the best price but they were the most approachable and in our opinion the best all round company. We then had a surveyor, Joe come out to survey and like Ray, he was friendly, helpful and reassuring as to what the process would be. He gave us an idea as to what the final staircase would look like and also gave us some very useful and helpful tips in how to incorporate the lighting into the strings. We cannot forget about Lana, Eddie and Rachel in the office who gel everything together. It is always a pleasure speaking to every member of the office team. They are all so friendly, helpful and their customer service skills are excellent. Having a team like that is so important as they keep you informed and are also very knowledgable in the sense that they know what everyone else is doing (you do get some companies who don’t know what is going on and they keep you waiting for days with no answers). They are so easy to get on with and always love the conversations on the phone with them. Then we come to the workmanship - Jason and Jake were magnificent. It was a pleasure having them over to do the work as they were really friendly and professional. I do need to point out here that Jason deserves a special mention, he is so unbelievably good at his job and to top it off he is such a nice person. Jake is also so nice and friendly and hard working. The guys made sure my floor was protecting and at all times our house was always kept tidy. All the rubbish was taken away and the guys cleaned after themselves (unlike some other companies) My overall amazement as to how great the staircase looks is a huge compliment to the whole team. Every point of the job was done when and how they said it would be and I was always informed. So I need to finish off by saying thank you very much to each and every single one of the team - you have all between you provided me which a statement in my home in the form of a wonderful, classy and stylish staircase - all done in great spirits with wonderful individuals!

We had a staircase renovation a year ago and the service, quality and finish exceeded our expectations.

A year on, the staircase looks as good as the day it was installed and delights us each and every day. In fact the oak colour has bettered with age!

We had several quotes for the new oak staircase but Abbot-Wade initially impressed us with the enthusiasm of the salesman/designer, the quality of the samples and the thoroughness of the renovation design as they were able to completely replace all the newel posts including a 3m length one!
[other companies had suggested the 3m newel post could only be replaced at the top end which would have been unsightly and require that the lower, older section to be cladded and therefore be a wider cross-sectional area to the new section of newel post attached above it...not a good look).

We are delighted with the quality, finish and look of our new oak staircase. We are so pleased that we spent more to have our treads and risers in oak too. This enhances the look of the new staircase even more and the anti-slip surface works very well.

A very professional service from the initial phone call, following on to the salesman/designer’s visit, the surveyor, the fitting, and the aftercare team. All the staff we had dealings with were polite, friendly, enthusiastic, helpful and punctual. Nothing was too much trouble.

When it came to the removal of the old staircase and fitting of the new one, it was a pleasure to have the fitters in our house and they were very neat and tidy and completed the job in just 2 days. We spotted a few minor scratches after the fitting and the aftercare team sent out a ‘magician’ within a few days who made them disappear! Then we had a small problem with fitting a new landing carpet over the old bullnose at the very top of the stairs and once again, the aftercare team quickly arranged for the fitting team to call back to fit a new bullnose to secure the landing carpet properly.

You could not wish for a better quality product and service and reassurance of excellent aftercare should it be required.

We had an oak and glass refurbished staircase at our previous house so knew what we should expect. The experience on the whole was better and the price was very competitive as we had a quote from the company we used previously and they were much dearer!
