"Absolutely waste of time and money and…"
Absolutely waste of time and money and unfortunately destroying the name of Domestic and General. They don’t tell you that they wouldn’t send the boiler manufacturer for repair( In my case Valliant) they use private company Right Gas which would make every excuse not to repair- the engineers are poorly trained and don’t have parts- please avoid at any costs. The complaints process is ineffective.

"No Customer Service available !!!"
When signing up to ScottishPower's boiler insurance, Scottish Power confirmed to me by email that I am insured. But when I wanted to claim, it turned out that my insurance account was not even set up. They lost my insurance sign-up.
It took me approximately 10 emails to their Customer Service, but they constantly refused to assist me.
Finally, I got offered a £100 compensation and they assured me: "We will take this on board and make sure that the relevant changes are made to the customer service."
This assurance obviously did not get acted upon, because their customer service even worsened from then on.
Subsequently, I did not even get any reply at all to 4 out of my 5 emails to Scottish Power's Customer Service. This is a failure rate of 80%.

"Go with anybody else for your boiler…"
Go with anybody else for your boiler cover, it might be a little bit more expensive but trust me you will benefit by not going with Scottish Power.
Can never speak to anyone, even when you do the service is terrible and then its not even scottish power that attends if they actually do come out when they are supposed to, they send City Technical, who are a joke in themselves.
Please just pay the extra and go with ANYBODY else rather than this lot........

"Incompetent, Unprofessional and Shambolic "
An absolute joke of a company who should be renamed to “Scottish Boiler We Don’t Care” and who take total incompetence to new levels.
I’ve dealt with this company for years , paying £20 per month for a service & maintenance contract .
However, of late their level of service has dropped considerably and is now nothing short of a joke.
My annual service took place on the 3rd April, where the engineer took all of 5 minutes ( it used to take around 30)
Up until then my boiler had been working perfectly , then 3 days after the service it stopped working .
Over the following 5-6 weeks , I had them out around 6 times trying to fix the problem .
I was told initially a new circuit board was required , this was fitted , then after 2 days it stopped working again .
Their engineer then told me it’s was a loose connection somewhere and “ just to give the boiler a thump with my hand “ to try and get it to work !!
Another new part was ordered which I was told would take 48 hours to arrive and after two and a half weeks it still hadn’t.
Their customer service staff never call back re updates etc , despite promising to.
The boiler I have is old , but I’m told ( apart from the replacement part required), is still working perfectly.
I decided to ask for a quote to replace it with a new combo boiler and despite asking for this on 4 seperate occasions now , 6 weeks later , still nothing!
An absolute joke of a company who I’ve stopped dealing with and would advise others not to go near them

Further to my previous review, I did some research and I found out that this company does not even exist.
I have received correspondence in their stationary claiming to be a Limited company with the number SC0570347.
I checked with the UK Government's public records on Companies House and this company number never existed.
Check the number against the Companies House search to confirm.

"Extremely Untrustworthy Company"
I have had a maintenance contract with Scottish Boiler Care for many years and have witnessed their service decline severely over the years.
In common with so many reports of other reviewers they consistently delay undertaking the annual service of the boiler. My previous service was carried out in January 2023 and they have earmarked a date in July 2024 for the next service. Totally unacceptable. They have continued to charge a monthly fee which incorporates the annual service fee despite the service not being carried out each year as required. When challenged on this as I requested the appropriate rebate, the manager became extremely abusive and threatening. He clearly has no customer skills. My advice to all is avoid dealing with Scottish Boiler Care at all costs.

"Shocking and dishonest lot"
Shocking and dishonest lot. For those looking to protect their boiler. Do not use this cover. The only thing they cover is their own pockets from your money. Legal and General will use any excuse to avoid paying for a new boiler and do not cover repair with no notice given.

" Shocking Dishonest Service "
Absolutely disgusting customer service! My 85 year old mother’s heating broke down so she called this company as she’d been paying them £20 every month for boiler care. An engineer came out & told her that she needed a new boiler as her 8 year old boiler could not be repaired. The next day Sean called her to let her know that they could supply a new boiler for £2500. Fortunately she told him that she would discuss it with me first. I contacted another company who assured me that she definitely didn’t need a new boiler & that it could easily be repaired. Strange how Scottish Boiler Care’s engineer couldn’t repair it but another gas engineer could. Was this incompetence or more sinister, an attempt to fleece one of their customers? What a rip off!! My elderly vulnerable mum was almost conned to part with £2500 when it was NOT necessary. Furthermore, I also discovered that they had not carried out the annual service either. At least Dick Turpin had the decency to wear a mask when he was robbing folk. Please do not touch this company with a barge pole!!

"I chose Scottish power boiler care…"
I chose Scottish power boiler care against the wishes of my uncle. They set up everything and sent me a reference number on the 34 day after the cover started my boiler started leaking. I've called for an engineer lo and behold they haven't actually set up the policy although they sent me the reference number. The policy was supposed to start on the 4th Jan 2024 they have now started on the 4th Feb 2024 I have spent time chasing them up from work this company is highly incompetent
BEWARE OF USING THEM. I have spent two hours chasing them up I will be going to the ombudsman about them I'm just waiting to get a resolution first

Repaired my boiler which had not been working at all.
They came out and the new engineer they had was very helpful and got it working in under an hour.
Great service and happy that I got my heating back on so quickly.
Can't complain.
