"A waste of money"
My gas boiler is regularly serviced and only 7 years old. It failed to switch on and I suspected a blown fuse. I rang the emergency breakdown number and was given another number by Domestic & General to ring to book an engineer. No one answered or rang back. I complained to D&G where a helpful person said she would try and eventually said she had booked an engineer who would come that day.
No one came. I rang again that evening to complain and spoke to a friendly D&G employee who admitted that she had no idea what company the other number was and could offer me no advice or alternative number. The next day I rang the number again before 8 am and left a recorded message. Again, no reply.
Scottish Power have passed all emergency care to an insurance company which boasts, on waiting telephone calls, that it provides a wonderful service. Utter nonsense. I then found a local emergency boiler cover company who came within hours and solved the problem for £85.

"Go somewhere else"
Would not even give them one star! They say the priorities vulnerable people, just not true!! I am a disabled lady just out off hospital with no heating or hot water!! Can’t come out until tomorrow but was told it’s a three day call!! Look elsewhere for boiler cover!! That’s what I am doing now. Disgraceful ScottishPower!!

"Contract out to Johnston Scotia. Avoid."
Scottish Power contract their boiler insurance to Johnston Scotia in our area, Gloucester. Called promptly to diagnose the fault. Then two no shows for the appointments made to fix the fault, despite the fact that the company has the new part and are aware that our boiler is leaking water. Now 13 days since they first came. A third appointment made, but we're not hopeful. We have chased Johnston Scotia as they didn't contact us on either occasion they failed to turn up. Have also complained to Scottish Power.
Update: Johnston Scotia failed to attend for a 3rd time, but left a message on our answer phone to cancel at short notice. Boiler finally repaired after several phone calls to Scottish Power, Domestic and General and Johnston Scotia. The engineer who finally attended was good. He said he is leaving the company and has another job lined up.

Phoned this morning at 9am to report my 97 year old mum had no heating and by 11.30am an engineer had been sent out and rectified the problem. Thank you very much for the speedy service I now have a very happy and warm mum!

"Absolutely appalling service"
Absolutely appalling service, been without heating 18 days and still counting as they tell me parts 'may' be in Saturday so will be 3 weeks then. I am disabled with a young child and was put under the Service Watch team due to being vulnerable, I have made complaints several times yet still no updates, when I have called I have had the phone put down 3 times after holding for so long and explaining my situation to so many people. I have a list of names. None of them are trained in dealing with customer complaints as they put the phone down on you. There are so many different companies involved it is confusing. Was then let down by the engineer coming last Monday as even though I was told parts had arrived the previous week, they then told me parts were missing so they have had to order them again but they can't guarantee they will arrive !! What a joke of a business. Unbelievable. I wish I had never taken boiler cover out, I will splash their names all over to ensure nobody goes through what I am going through.

"Disappointing Service."
Scottish Power were contacted on 08/11/2021 morning when we had the boiler problem. Even though they were informed that we had a baby in the house, the Engineer didn't turn up 11th afternoon. The Engineer literally spent few minutes, tightened a nut and left. Basically, he said that he was trying to fix the problem by tightening the nut but it could be some other problem. He asked us to contact them again if the boiler is not sorted. This is not what a customer expects when the boiler cover is stated. We are left in a helpless situation not knowing when the boiler will break down again. Disappointing service.

"Do not use them. Subcontractors are awful."
They subcontract out to Domgen who will not show up, hang up on you, and ignore your calls. You'll be left without hot water for days and nothing will be done to rectify the issue. Absolutely appalling service

AVOID
As most other people are saying, you pay ScottishPower but they subcontract to Domestic and General who subcontract in my case to City Technical Services. Feckin nightmare, you’ll end up with a bloke coming round and running your hot water for 10 minutes and say everything is okay.

"Dissatisfied customer"
I am astounded with the mishandling of the financial side of the landlord boiler plan.
My son had several properties on this plan and I had just two, all of which were paid by monthly direct debit from separate accounts.
After giving them a second (and 3rd and 4th) chance I have cancelled all plans with them.
Both my direct debits were mistakenly cancelled by them.
The first of mine was cancelled instead of one of his which had a new boiler which was then covered under the warranty.
The second .............. no one can give me an answer as to why it was cancelled.
This is just a couple of the grievances we have with this firm!!!
We have now cancelled all plans and direct debits.

"DO NOT BUY AN ANNUAL CONTRACT WITH THIS COMPANY"
Today I had to pay for a contract which I terminated in March 2021. The reason for cancelling was that the company refused to service my boiler due to covid even though I was having trouble with it which ultimately burned out due to the inefficiency of 3 engineer visits which failed to diagnose the problem After the 3rd visit I had to buy a new boiler but from April 2021 they kept sending appointments for my Annual Service even though I didn't have the boiler which was under contract.
I had not signed a contract for 2020 as this is done after the boiler receives its annual service which was denied.
DO NOT PURCHASE A CONTRACT WITH THIS FIRM.
