"Took a boiler cover with Scottish…"

Took a boiler cover with Scottish Power. Paid for years but when the boiler broke was told my insurance void. Tried to speak to the manager but was told that manager in Scottish Power doesn’t speak to costumers and I need to wait 5 working days for someone to come back to me. Now I have no hot water and no heating for a week. I asked to refund me money so I can go to another provider as I also paid £100 for an engineering to attend and again it was refused as ‘manager doesn’t speak to costumers’ -it was an answer from Rachel from costumers service. Scottish Power is a very rich company but it doesn’t deserve their costumers because doesn’t care about people who pay to them every month.

"I wish I had read these reviews before…"

I wish I had read these reviews before going to scottish power for boiler cover. They are absolutely awful if I could give zero stars I would. 3 engineers in past month still can't fix a leaking radiator or boiler honestly this company just don't know what there doing, I had to Google how to fix it myself, total waste of money! Be very careful as they almost broke my entire system,

Annual Boiler Service carried out on the day booked. Was expecting the radiators to be bled but not done which is a pity.

"Scottish Power Boiler care is useless"

Scottish Power Boiler care is useless. I have just spent 30min talking to a rep about a fault on my boiler. We moved in Jan and informed SP, they have attended our new house to service and carry out repairs at least twice, we now have a new problem and they claim not to have our new house on record. I find this very strange, why have they send an engineer to our new address before. They have refused to send an engineer out and say it will take up to five days to respond to our complaint. I asked to speak to a manager, but guess what none were avaliable. We are both pensionners in a gas heated house with no heat. Don't wast your money go to a company that will sort your problem out. I wonder if we will get any response from Scottish Power boiler cover?

"Stay well away from this company!"

Stay well away from this company!! I will be cancelling my policy. They sent me out a “qualified engineer” who had absolutely no idea what he was doing in regards to finding the problem with my heating. He actually said “i have no idea why they sent me, I only service boilers” Then went on to call his manager who miraculously managed to diagnose my heating issue over the phone and said i need a power flush and magna clean filter for £985!! Left me thinking WTAF!! I called around and found another engineer from another company who located the actual problem in 30 seconds…turns out it was a faulty zone valve and he left me with a temporary fix, and more importantly with heating, and said he would return for a permanent repair when he could get the part needed!!

"I have annual boiler service booked…"

I have annual boiler service booked twice on 25th Oct and 7th Nov. It's been cancelled last minutes. i have taken days off from work and waiting for engineer but before 1 hour they have called and cancelled it. Not happy

"Worst experience! No words to say!"

After reading the reviews about the boiler service then I realized why am I struggling with this boiler company services! It is painful get them arrange an engineer. The engineer was useless. He doesn't know the real issue. He sorted it temporarily and left. The next hour boiler stopped working. No one was taking responsibility to resolve the issue. Such a waste.

How can I take any legal action on these useless service company?

"They are the worst company for boiler…"

They are the worst company for boiler care, Domestic and General who they subcontract are even worse they lie a keep you hold or hang up the phone on you. We have been without a boiler for a month with an 9 month old infant, an engineer came three times and could not solve the problem or advise on the way forward we had to make countless phone calls. We got an independent engineer who spent an hour checking everything and said it was not cost effective to repair the boiler, we got two other engineers just to be sure and they both said the same thing even did a report that was sent to them, we had to send this report about 8 times they kept on saying they don't have it. When we Cc'd other people to prove to them that they are getting the emails they said it should be in PDF format this is when you know you are dealing with jokers. The complains department and the claims depart are always sayin they are checking with the other team if they have recieved the report. The report stated a list of problems with the boiler and why it must be replaced as it is not economical to repair. However Cathy from the claims department missed everything and picked a part that was also mentioned on the report and said they cannot do anything until that part was fixed she missed the part that said the boiler should be replaced.

I am now on the process of taking legal action and getting an independent engineer to replace the boiler.

"Can't fix the boiler and still want paid."

This company were unable to fix the boiler, but will not cancel the contract and expect to us to pay a £200 cancellation fee or continue paying for cover, which they cannot provide.

They also refuse to reply to any communication.

My advice would be to steer well clear and use a reputable company like British Gas or something instead.

"Premium almost doubled in a year"

Been with scottish power boiler care for many years had to make a claim as heating stopped payed £99 excess now yearly renewal has come in from £3.50 per month last year they now want £6.50 per month almost double the premium. Now looking at alternative cover .
