This company's lack of sympathy is appalling. No hot water or heating for a week, and their solution is merely to raise a complaint? Zero results. The boiler repair company they use is unreachable. Stay away, avoid this company at all costs.

"Worst insurance experience ever"
Similar experiences to others on here, so seems to be a pattern... Boiler broke and was asked to pay £99 upfront for visit but assured it would cover all repairs and parts. Engineer arrived, spent 10 minutes here and said the flume needed replacing before he could repair the boiler. Chased up Scottish Power 3 times (as they didn't call me) and was told they didn't cover flume repair. We've had 4 other boiler engineers visit since who have all said there is no problem with our flume so this was clearly an excuse not to work on our boiler. I've raised a complaint and asked for the £99 to be returned, as they obviously had no intention of trying to repair our boiler, but still heard nothing back. Huge waste of money over many years

This boiler insurance is completely useless. Boiler has a broken over pressure valve and is leaking pressure. Engineer turns up and wont fix until in his words that all the radiators have been replaced.
Completely waste of money having this insurance.

"Not good with elderly"
At the moment their subcontractors are accusing my 94 year old blind aunt of getting a stepladder and climbing up the kitchen furniture to change the clock prior to a visit. Had a call from Gas Call to say they'd cancelled the job, quoting THEIR job number (?) and getting stroppy with me for not knowing what this number was. A hostile reception from them convinced me that they are not suitable dealing with elderly folk. Not competent although they'll be happy to have an argument with you, the customer!

"Decent company"
Have been with this company for many years, and have no complaints. Think this is mostly down to the gas engineer who comes - it's always the same one, so he knows my system really well, and will come as soon as he is able to. They are much cheaper than OVO etc. I think SBC has cut down on the number of engineers available, and this is why sometimes there is a wait in responding to a breakdown. But, all in all, am fairly happy.

"Choose another provider"
The contractors used by Scottish Power (Johnston Scotia) informed me that a repair was not covered under the plan. They invoiced me for the repair to which I agreed. When they arrived, the engineer spent 20 minutes "replacing" the problem expansion valve before leaving. He managed to damage some of the wood work in the boiler cupboard as an added bonus.
I queried the charge for two hours labour, given the engineers limited time at the premises, but received no response. 6 months later, they just resent the invoice.
I approached Scottish Power who just washed their hands of any responsibility other than to chase the firm to contact me. I eventually paid a reduced bill to reflect the actual labour involved.
To add insult to injury, the "replaced" expansion vessel has to be replaced again 9 months later with the same issue. The new heating engineer is of the opinion that, given its appearance, it was never replaced at all and that, if it was, it was not a new component. He also stated that they should also have replaced other sprung valves.
I would never touch Scottish Power or Johnston Scotia again. Bunch of 🤠🤠🤠.

"Go with someone else!"
Had a boiler service booked today between 12 - 6pm, received a call from the engineer at 9am saying he'd be here in 20 minutes, we weren't home, he said he'd see us after 12 then. Waited in all afternoon (I'd booked day off as holiday) and he never showed. Called him twice, he ignored it, rang the company, was transfered several times, engineer had cancelled our appointment and not bothered to tell us, and not a single person apologised! We're leaving this company, they have no respect for customers or their time.

"Terrible customer service"
I was due to get a visit between 8-1pm but this didn’t happen. I called them and was informed that the engineer was running late and was some time away. I asked why I didn’t get a phone call to say this and was informed very rudely that there was 7 minutes before 1pm for the engineering to call me. I won’t be using this company again

"DO NOT USE!!!!!Sent out a company from…"
DO NOT USE!!!!!Sent out a company from Coventry, Earldson Plumbing,turned the heating and water off without telling me. My dad who is in 80's is living with and recovering from a hip operation was left sitting in the freezing cold. We now have no heating or hot water. The company could not tell me when they will be back, and also now found out the boiler is not covered for the two parts, so do not know how much it is going to cost. Scottish Power cannot be bothered, told me as my dad is vulnerable, we would get a call BUT that would take at least 24 hrs. Such a JOKE!!!!!!!!!

This is an appalling company. I have waited for my annual service since last year, and they constantly cancel or just don’t turn up.
I have also previously received verbal abuse and threats from the managing director.
I’m now having to cut my loses and go elsewhere. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
