Scottish Boiler Care

"Avoid at all costs"
Been waiting 12 weeks for a new trv for radiator and told by Chloe that part is not ready yet. Nor do they repair boilers anymore even though i have a maintenance contract with them. Phoned them 10 times and every time is a lie. Better off dealing with a more reputable and trustworthy company. My advice to people avoid this company like the plague. All they will do is take your money and offer no service at all. Chloe favourite reply is i don't know the answer to that i don't know that. You cant speak to a manager you have to email. Too many mangers here to name. Maybe that is the problem too many managers not enough workers.

"DO NOT TOUCH THIS COMPANY"
DO NOT TOUCH THIS COMPANY
I have been with them for a number of years but never really happy with them but they kept my boiler going and charging a monthly price. For the past 4 years their engineer has been saying you need a new boiler they will stop making parts constantly. My heating stopped working on Tuesday and was promised an engineer out Wednesday which he did come. As soon as he was through the door you need to think about a new boiler. It was the thermostat that was gone Ive had it before. He did what he had to do and then couldn't get it started. He phoned Glowworm asking for their advice and was glad to tell us that is your boiler gone its broken its not working cannot be fixed. He zipped up tool bag and walked out and said we dont fit boilers anymore but a company called BOXT are good and walked out. Lovely service so genuine and caring. Have had to go to my sisters and inlaws for showers. Then today (Friday) my husband turned on tap and the water was warm. He went to cupboard and turned on heating and by a miracle my heating was back working. In the meantime I have ordered for BOXT to come out and fit a new one on Tuesday because I thought this was my only option. This engineer (haha) obviously had no patience to hang around and see if it would kick in and then frightening people in to get a new boiler. In the meantime I thought this is an emergency so had to order a new boiler and its getting fitted on Tuesday but at a cost of £2330. I could see yesterday that the engineer was not interested in fixing my boiler and eventually he got his way.

"Well what can I say after reading all…"
Well what can I say after reading all these comments so so true absolutely awful and appalling it’s now our eighth date with no heating or hot water engineers haven’t got a clue supposed to be coming back today but after reading these notes I’m not so sure whether they’re even gonna turn up absolutely appalling service do not touch them because soon as it’s all this is over I will be changing to another company I’ve had no communication emails messages it’s me that’s had to do all the phoning around I mean my husband or 60s and I both full-time carers it’s been a real nightmare

"Awful service"
Awful service. Booked for an engineer to attend Friday 21st Jan. Waited in all day and no engineer came. Called Scottish Power and was told somebody would call me Saturday to resolve the matter. Nobody did. I called them late Saturday afternoon and was put through to the engineer who had failed to turn up. He was completely useless. I called Scottish Power again and was told Baxi would be able to come out and they would put me straight through to them only to be met by an answerphone stating Baxi were closed for the weekend. Another call to Scottish Power who promised a supervisor would call me straight back to discuss the issue. Nobody called. Called Sunday and was told the matter had been forwarded to their resolution centre who would contact me Monday. Nobody called. I called them again Monday evening and was told the resolution team would take several days to call me. Appalling service. I have a boiler that does not work, a breakdown policy that isn’t worth the paper it is written on and numerous broken promises

"Can’t fault them"
I was apprehensive about keeping my cover with them and was close to cancelling within 14 days after I read the reviews on here.
I may be the lucky one but they haven’t put a foot wrong and I’ve had to call them out for 3 separate faults with everything fixed.
Hopefully this continues for everyone else.

"Avoid even British Gas are better"
Shocking service my mother's boiler broke down over Christmas. (She's 83) They knew for months that there was a problem with it and had previously told her to just press the reset button.
No one was on emergency call over the holidays and she's been told that the part has now been ordered (without the engineer diagnosing the fault) but hasn't arrived.
The engineer has to come from Dundee to Edinburgh! Even though they say "they have engineers strategically positioned throughout the country".
And my mother at 83 has been told she is NOT a priority due to her age.
Every time they need a part it has to be ordered through the Glasgow office and cannot go to the local suppliers to pick one up.
I really don't know why she stays with them. But this will be the last if I have to take out cover from another company myself.
In short they really don't give a damn about their customers.
Oh and now my mother has a chesty cough surprise surprise. Bunch of ..........

"DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY"
UPDATE
despite two emails from me requesting contact and my parents ringing repeatedly and filling in the contact form, mysteriously this company have no record of any of this contact! They will not refund the repair as the repair plan is now invalid due to someone else "tampering" with the boiler! Only escalation process is to the email address on the website which apparently goes to managers (the one I used) - but all the emails sent to that address are not there????
This company have no morals whatsoever, quite happy to take your money then leave elderly people (check out other reviews) without heating at the coldest time of the year, then deny they have received emails and calls! Will be reporting them to Trading Standards.
Left two pensioners in their 70's with no heating or hot water from Christmas night. Tried all the numbers on the website, filled in the contact form - still, waiting on any kind of contact 5 days later. Had to phone an emergency plumber on Boxing Day who went out of his way to try and get it fixed - parents out of pocket over £400 even though they have parts and labour boiler cover with this company. Would give zero stars if that was an option!

"Rubbish service"
Rubbish. Called a few days ago, put through to Domestic and General who said they organised Southwest Heating to come and fix my boiler. Agreed between 9-5pm today. Rang SW Heating who assured me an engineer would be here by 6pm. Its now 5.50pm and no sign, a freezing cold home.
I will call again tomorrow. If this is not fixed I will cancel my boiler cover with Scottish Power..this is useless
Rang Scottish power who put me through to D& G ref Bert, advising the engineer was still on a job at 6pm and it would take another 4-5 hours!!!! Rubbish
He called the subcontractor who advised him another engineer would be out between 8am to 1pm tomorrow. He couldnt remember the subcontractors name!!!
I called the subcontractor and spoke to reference Shane of Southwest Heating. I was assured I would be first on the job list at 8am tomorrow. I assured him and Domestic and General if this wasnt fixed tomorrow the policy will be cancelled.
