Had a rental from Ivalo, Finland w/ Europcar and you as a "partner" company. Period from 21 dec. 2023 10 days.
1)It is one star too many! DO NOT rent from here!
Since 31 of dec. 2023 I have been writing both Europcar and Economy car rental with the issue that I paid too much according to the original voucher which was Issued to me before arrival. All in all I paid more +400 euro too much!
2) Very LONG process to answer from both parties. First reply from Economy Car rental was 10 days after rental period. Latest reply 6th. of feb. from you - I wrote you on Jan. 22!?!
3) Europcar same long process to answer, very concerned about this. And their latest reply "However we don't know the amount as this insurance is between you and this 3rd party insurer"....
4) You can not even choose location in this report, where I actually rented from.

My name is Sarah, and I rented a vehicle from Economy Rent a Car on 22-25 JAN2024 thru Hotwire. Economy Rent a Car aka NOLA rentacar.com. When I received the vehicle, I examined the outside of the and noted some scratches and took pictures of the damage. Then I entered the vehicle to find the driver side door panel on the floor of the vehicle detached. I went back to the office to report the damage and was informed that they were aware of the problem, and I should not have any problems from the issue. Departing the facility at approx 5:30pm and approx 1/2 mile down the road the "Warning Malfunction" "See Owner's Manual" indicator came on. I pulled into the nearest gas station and called Economy and they tried contacting the NOLA office, which was closed. The Economy rep said he was not familiar with the situation and was unable to tell me if it was safe the drive the vehicle. He suggested that I return the vehicle. I informed him that I lived approximately 2hrs drive from New Orleans and was not spending the night in NO to go back to the office. I asked if there was another Economy rental place I may go to for an exchange, he said no I had to take the vehicle back to NOLA.
I have attached several photos of the vehicle damages that questions my safety and definitely affords me a full refund of $135.62 paid. The photos include detached floor panel, detaching driver's door handle, detached rear window panel, detached door rubber on both read doors, and Warning Malfunction for as stated before.

They canceled our reservation without our consent and demanded twice the rate in order to reinstate it.
Their manager assured us a full refund while being video recorded. Economy Rent A Car never refunded the money!

"Zero Stars if I could"
Zero Stars if I could. Lied to at the counter when they told me I would get a refund but they didn't have a car for me and stole my money. Complete runaround with this company. Flight showed up late and I prepaid for a car. They didn't have a vehicle for me when I got there 12 hours late and said I'd get a refund I had to go to Expedia though. I think they just wanted me out of the counter? Dealt with Expedia and my credit card and they both stated economy charge my card not them. So they lied. Now they refuse to refund. Even though I saw available cars in the lot. Stay very far away from economy rent a car! This company are run by thieves.

to save a few bucks I picked this company, it turns out with them you flip a coin; if all goes well you are ok but in case of problems you loose your money and customer care is totally useless, or they act like they're useless.
I made my booking at Mauritius in August, when I arrived the company said they had no cars left cause Economyrentacar was fowarding too many reservations. So I count not rent my car. When I asked for deposit to be returned customer car took 4 months to let me know that it was my fault and I had refused their car, which is obviously a lie.
Make yourself a favour, stay away from them!!

No way out of paying extra for liability insurance.
All other rental car companies allow you to waive the insurance upsells, but Economy did not. I don't have liability insurance, so I had to pay double what I was expecting for the car rental.

My experience with Economy Rent a Car, particularly with manager Frank Gutierrez, was exceptionally negative. Faced with an unforeseen flight cancellation, I was unable to use my reservation. Despite the situation being completely out of my control, Frank Gutierrez and his team showed no willingness to accommodate or understand, adhering blindly to a no-refund policy. Their communication was as unfriendly as it was inflexible, exemplifying a complete disregard for customer service. I strongly advise against using Economy Rent a Car; their service is not only rigid but also lacks the basic courtesy you’d expect in the hospitality industry.

"NEVER RENT A CAR WITH ECONOMY CAR RENTALS"
We rented a car and paid in full 2 weeks prior to the car pick up. We did an early check in a day before the pick up. Due to a one hour flight and Economy’s poor instructions for a shuttle bus, we were late to pick up by 2 hours. Economy changed us additional $130 for the 2 hours in additional to our paid in full amount of $242 for a week of a car rental. When we refused to pay additional amount Economy refused to rent a car or refund us.
Save yourself a heartache and never rent a car with Economy at Honolulu.
