"Confirmed reservation the day before…"

Confirmed reservation the day before arrival, arrived Apr 16th at 9:30pm and found out hotel was overbooked, waited over two hours for info,after traveling all day and it's now after midnight I had to find my own accommodations at a cost a lot more then my original booking. No one ever contacted me while waiting,

"They change the price when you try to pay"

I tried to book with quoted price and it took me all the way through to tell me it wasn't available, reloaded and the same room was £40 more. I still booked as it's the hotel I want but frustrating that you quote inaccurate prices to hook people in and then change the price when they try to pay, I feel this is false advertising.

Absolutely abysmal customer service. (meant to post here, original review is on the page for their sister site splittytravel.com) Absolutely abysmal customer service. Accidentally booked a trip without insurance and immediately contacted to get this cancelled and corrected while the transaction was still pending, got stonewalled multiple times before being told it was "escalated" and hearing nothing back. DO NOT USE

"BUYER BEWARE"

BUYER BEWARE - check the details immediately. I booked two refundable rooms for a memorial service that we wound up not being able to attend. The confirmation said refundable until 4/27. What I didn’t see on the confirmation was that it was refundable until 12:00AM on 4/27, UTC time zone. That works out to 5:00PM on 4/26 in California. Why would they say 12:00AM on 4/27 instead of 11:59PM on 4/26 unless they are simply trying to catch people who fail to carefully read the fine print? 12:00AM 4/27 is actually end of day 4/26. And why UTC time zone when they are booking rooms in USA? Anyway, I tried to cancel on 4/27 and they got me. It took a bunch of disconnected calls to finally get through to their customer service, but in the end there was no refund. $505.00 down the drain. Zero stars here. I will stay away in the future.

UPDATE 4/29: After I posted this original review on 4/28, the next morning I received this email from Traveluro. I have replaced the person's name with xxx's.

We understand that you encountered difficulties with your reservation due to our strict non-amendable or refundable booking policy. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

Despite this policy we will try to request for cancelation and refund with our Hotel provider but before we do that we need your permission to cancel this reservation with charges so we can proceed to negotiate this with our hotel partner if they can make an exception and process a full refund.

Once you agree to cancel this booking we will cancel and full penalty will be applied. Also, please note once the booking has been canceled it can no longer be reinstated and the refund still no guarantee and will be subject to hotel approval.

Kindly inform us if you accept the cancelation charges.

Thank you and I will be waiting for your response.

While this follow-up letter sounds like they are willing to help by finally giving me a cancellation and refund, In three different places it refers to the idea of charging me for the privilege of cancelling, but nowhere does it detail what the charges might be. I responded for clarification before agreeing to anything, but after 2 hours there has been no reply to my questions.
BUYER BEWARE!

UPDATE 4/29 #2: After requesting more clarity on what they were offering me ("cancel this reservation with charges", "cancel and full penalty", "accept the cancelation charges"), I received the following email from Traveluro. I believe that these two emails prove that Traveluro has crossed the line from simply using deceptive practices to attempting an actual scam. In their emails, they are using vague language, poor english, and bad spelling to try to get me, their customer, to agree to new additional charges for cancelling before they consider refunding what they are offering to refund me. They do not, in either email, state what the charges would be. Bear in mind that I had already written off the charges I lost on this booking. They are the ones pursuing me with this offer. I would be a fool to even respond to this email:

Good day. I hope this email finds you well. In regards to your question the permission r=XXXXXX is asking and "we will cancel and full penalty will be applied" are basically the same.

Please be advised that the cancellation request was initiated beyond the given time for the guest to decide to cancel the booking. Since it's past timely, guest will be penalized if the reservation will be cancelled. That's why XXXXXX is asking for permission to cancel the reservation so that the penalty of full amount will apply momentarily, then they can proceed with the next step of the refund process which is to review all available information and reasons that led to the denial, to see if the guest is eligible for refund or not.

But to keep your mind at ease, XXXXXX did not cancel your reservation or booking because she is still waiting for your devision.
