"I recently moved from Oregon to Texas"

I recently moved from Oregon to Texas. The delivery of the trailer to my Oregon house went without any hiccups. The local driver was extremely professional, told me to call him anytime if I had any questions. I called him the day before I was finished loading and he came and picked it up the next day in the early afternoon on April 14th. We left southern Oregon on the 17th and headed to our home in Texas. I got a confirmation text stating my trailer will arrive April 26th-28th at our new place. As I started to track the shipment, it went from southern Oregon up to Portland, then east to Hermiston, then Salt Lake City. It sat there for 5 days. I finally called and wanted some answers on when, where, why etc. After the phone call, I gave it another few days and apparently I was lied to. Here it is the 28th of April and its currently in Albuquerque NM waiting for a dispatch to Dallas, then it will need to go to the Waco yard then delivered to my house. We have a 28ft travel trailer and we packed it with a weeks worth of clothes, food, items of importance. We have since had to buy things to compensate for them being late. Their paperwork talks about charges that they can impose on the customer for being late, but apparently if they're late, it's too f#CKING bad. I'll never use this company again. Extremely disappointed with them. I'm keeping all my receipts for my expenses that I incurred while they lolly gagged doing what they do. So their motto, delivery 6-8 days is a joke, lie, means absolutely nothing.

"Read BEFORE you spend"

Read BEFORE you spend. I’m not a complainer, in fact, most often the opposite. That said, I feel compelled to share my experience. My wife and our five kids are moving 1,800 miles. We received a quote from U-Pack and two other companies. U-Pack was the lowest. Once we agreed to do business with them, I was directed by Brandon (from U-Pack) to call ABF Freight to arrange the drop off of the semi trailer. I found it odd that I had to call another company but went along with it, after all, what do I know about moving across country? I scheduled the drop off of the trailer with ABF, then called U-Pack back to inform them, and to confirm that their loaders would be at our home on that date, to load the trailer. Talked to a different agent this time. Told by that U-Pack agent that I would have to call “Moving Staffers” in order to schedule the loading. I asked, politely, why I had to call yet another third party company in order to schedule the loading of the semi trailer. This rep told me that U-Pack doesn’t actually own the loading and unloading end of their business, so the customer has to schedule the loading. I explained that when I first called U-Pack, I was told they offered a loading service. The rep said, “well we do offer it!” Unreal. So, yet again I called the company named Moving Staffers” and scheduled them. This is three months before the move. Now, a month before, I get an email from the loaders, confirming a date. I found a discrepancy so I phoned them, then figured I best call U-Pack to make sure they have everything right. Well guess what, they didn’t. This time, I was talking to yet a different rep at U-Pack. She confirmed the date for the trailer to be dropped off at my residence as the16th of the month. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I told her that the 16th wasn’t the date for the trailer delivery, that it was the date of final destination. I said “how in the hell does this get mixed up? I’m paying U-Pack nearly $8,000 and you can’t even get dates correct!” I went on to explain that I had finalized the dates more than one time and also expressed my near disbelief that I was the guy doing all the organizing. I asked why I had to make all the phone calls and ended my sentence with “that doesn’t made any damn sense!” Ready for this? This kid says “sir, you must stop using vulgarity when you’re speaking with me, and if you don’t, I’ll be terminating this call. Vulgarities? I told her “damn and hell” weren’t vulgarities, but utterances of frustration at the miserable business model U-Pack was using. It gets better. She began asking me why I called ABF Freight “in the first place.” I told her, because Brandon told me to. I’m not kidding, she asked the same question multiple times. I couldn’t take it any longer. I told her that I’d already answered the question more than once, suggested she stop playing detective and fix the problem. At this point I’m raising my voice as she’s pushed too many buttons. She referred again to my earlier vise of “vulgarities” and also protested my use of the word “detective” and hung up the phone. I called back and got a different rep. He listened to my story and said that I’d used “disparaging” language and that I offended his coworker. I’m now in complete disbelief and asked for a supervisor. Supervisor picks up five minutes later and tells me this. When a customer gets upset, it’s their policy that because the move hasn’t even started yet, that they feel it’s best to “go our separate ways” because they feel they won’t make me happy no matter what they do. I explained that I’d been very polite and kind during all my dealings with everyone at U-Pack, until the point at which I became frustrated with U-Pack getting the date of the move wrong, and in trying to change the date, expressed my disappointment with having to call other vendors. In a rather condescending tone he said that he would listen to the recorded conversations and said this. “I’ll listen, then I’ll call you back with a final decision as to whether or not we can work together. This was comedy at it’s worst. There you have it. This company actually thought I was going to HOPE they would be kind enough to let me give them $8,000? The entire organization is infected with snowflakes that, at the use of the words “damn” and “hell,” toss out the victim card and hang up the phone. Cancel culture at its finest. Two simple sentences would have fixed everything. “I’m so sorry that date got mixed up. Let’s fix that for you right now.” DONE. But nope, not at U-Pack. Let’s antagonize an already upset customer and when he starts raising his voice, let’s start interrogating him. So, I wound up calling a PROFESSIONAL moving company! Turned out to be one of the big boys that I assumed would be expensive. They came in at nearly $400 less than U-Pack and, you guessed it, ONE CALL did it. U-Pack was a NIGHTMARE!

"DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE THIS…"

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE THIS COMPANY!!!! This has been the worse experience I have ever had! First they didn’t tell us how much time we had to load the truck, then they called and YELLED at me because I didn’t have the trailer packed on time, I’m serious! The guy yelled at me!

After they got the trailer their “system glitched” and said my trailer was in Salt Lake City for 186 hours, when it never even left Tacoma! The trailer was supposed to be here over a week ago, finally made it to Oklahoma and they won’t bring it out until tomorrow! I got a call at 7 am it’s here and they won’t bring it until tomorrow after all their mess ups! I will never use this company again!

"Don't believe their 'Shipping Estimate' you'll get screwed over"

My Relocube has been at the Tacoma Location for 72 hours now. They claim shipping doesn't start when they pick it up from my home (pick-up location) even though that should be considered the start of shipping since the cube is MOVING. So basically they can bend their 'shipping estimates' to their will. No discounts or solutions offered. Spoke with two reps one named Kelly. Neither were helpful nor empathetic towards their consumers. I have used U-pack multiple times in the past but will not again and will never recommend to anyone again (which I have done multiple times in the past).

"Called customer service and got told…"

Called customer service and got told the move is only cross country and did not care to know i had a local quote. I stopped the process as they can keep their stupid workers and I will keep my money.

"Disappointed"

I hired UPack to move my stuff from Florida to Fort Campbell. The driver who came and dropped off the trailer in Florida was awesome. He explained how to load up the trailer properly and everything else I needed to know. My stuff got to Nashville ( the nearest Upack location to Fort Campbell) on March 1 but couldn’t be delivered till March 5 cause they said they were busy. Then when it finally got here late Friday night they told me they were out of ramps. So I had no ramp to unload my stuff off the moving trailer. It’s ridiculous for the price I paid upack for them to deliver it without a ramp. I will forsure never use Upack in the future.

"UPack ABF Fraud"

The Upack national number customer service, were actually great and so was ABF local out of Kent, WA. However Houston is 0 stars, and do not deserve one star. The custumer service lady asked me, "Do you want me to go to Dallas and put the cubes on my back." Frankly, yes I would like the company to do all they can to drive 3.5 hours away to get my 2 cube which we desparately need. Every week I am told the cubes are still in Dallas. I have had to rebuy clothing, furniture and other household items. This delay is costing me money. Every other day I receive a different day my items will arrive. Now more than one week late. First it was the weather which is bull because my family drove from Seattle to Houston, stayed 4 nights in hotels and still made it in 4 days despite leaving Seattle after our items shipped mid-February. Tomorrow March 8th, I plan to file a complaint with FMCSA 1-888-DOT-SAFT and other agencies that represent Veterans and federal employees. I now feel I am a victim of fraud and possibly theft by ABF.

"ARCBest? How about ARCWorst Freight?"

I book LTL freight for my job frequently. I understand the logistics. I understand delays. What I don’t understand is poor customer service and the absolute lack of empathy for their customers. I was told weather delay by the first person which is not true. When I finally got to a supervisor the truth is they are short drivers. This should be made clear upon booking. Not after all of your household goods out of your control. If I had known the 3-5 days would turn into 7-10 days I would have shipped minimal kitchen items ahead of time and my WORK computer. Now I must spend MORE money to eat out while I’m unable to earn any working. Due to this experience when I book LTL in the future I will NOT book with ABF again.

"Slow and rude!!!"

Slow and rude!!!! Do not ever use their service!

Customer service people are not very helpful and they delayed my shipment by almost a week. I had to call at every step to remind them and track where my items were and how I can make the shipment faster.

"This experience has been terrible"

This experience has been terrible. We had 2 trailers filled up in Illinois. The second one was filled and picked up by ABF/UPack on 12/21/2020. We are moving into our house in Dacula, Georgia on January 15, 2021. I have conversed with the dispatchers on both ends of the move several times to make sure everything was going according to plan. I just found out that one of my two trailers is still in Chicago, or...the dispatcher in Lawrenceville said its either in Chicago or maybe it's in Nashville. They do not know where it is. I have a crew hired at our new house in Georgia to unload both trailers on Friday 1/15/21. This is very unsettling. I could write about several other issues but this is the worse. The positives are that whenever I do talk to people they are usually nice. Another negative I will mention is do not believe the web videos. The experience does not match the reality.
