"Recent ReloCube Experience"
Recently used two of their ReloCube moving containers from TX to VA. Everything went smoothly, and the service I received was exactly what I was expecting.
Customer service was also great from start to finish.

"Drivers are hiding something"
I live in a guarded community that requires all drivers to show their state-issued ID at the gate when entering. I told them when I booked the container that someone would need to show their ID at the gate, and they said it wouldn't be a problem. The U-Pack/ABF driver refused to show his ID and became verbally aggressive with the private security company, so I am forced to rearrange my cross-country move. This will cost me another $1,000 because now I will need a hotel for a week. The U-Pack/ABF dispatcher also called me when the driver arrived. He immediately began yelling at me about the private security company of whom I have no affiliation with and no control over. These people have been rude and unprofessional with both myself as well as the security company at my community.
Go with PODS. U-Pack has proven to be sketchy. I don't know what their drivers are hiding but they have cost me quite a bit extra now. When I attempted to reason with them, they had no reasoning. The three people I talked to were rude and unprofessional, and utterly unwilling to offer any sort of compromise.
I also emailed them as per their comment below and they never replied.

"Made a reservation for a move from CA…"
Made a reservation for a move from CA to MI. , about two -three months in advance. Gave all info on my rental that I was living in and that I needed two trailers for my move. I had plenty of room to handle this with a three car garage with half the driveway cement and the rest hard pack. Was told this was not a problem. They said to call a different number two days before the move date to get the window for the drop off of the trailers. I called that day to confirm the time and was told that they will not deliver to my address because it was not all cement by looking at a Google map photo. They had my info for almost three months and never said anything, but tell me that they will not do the job two days before the move! They just screwed me and canceled the move when the driveway was perfectly fine for large trucks. A perfect example of one department not knowing what the other is doing. The last movers had no problem at all, but went with u-pack for what seemed like a good company.? The worst part was the lack of caring for my situation when I have one week to find another mover, which will be almost impossible. Thanks for nothing , and I hope like the old saying goes, what goes around comes around. Stay away from this company..

"Told it like it is."
They said we can not he charged more then $3600 which was the max and the minimum was $2700 from upto 16 feet. Anything over was $89 a foot. What was said, was true. No lies, no scams. We made it to exactly 16 feet and paid the minimum. We got what we asked and got what we paid for.

"I have a moving recently from Hamilton…"
I have a moving recently from Hamilton ON to Kentucky. They were on time, super responsible, and whenever I called them, I talked to an agent with zero waiting time. Plus, the price was super reasonable. Please manage your furniture inside the trailer. If you hire an expert to put the blanket between your furniture and put them in propane way, nothing happens for your furniture. We did not have any problems with moving with this great company.

"A -10 Star Review"
If it were possible to give a company a -10 star review, I would. As a US Army veteran, I have moved every to to three years for 11 years. I’ve also moved four times as a private citizen and using Upack was the worst moving decision I could’ve made.
There are so many steps to scheduling your Upack trailer delivery, picking up the trailer and unpacking it that I couldn’t keep up with which number I’m supposed to call at which time.
Yesterday, we finally began unpacking our trailer and are finding many things broken.
In addition, Upack referred us to Moving Staffers as one of their preferred companies to help unload the Upack trailer. That was also a disaster. I ended hiring a second moving company to help us the night before my scheduled move. Do not use this company. It will make your cross country move substantially more challenging and stressful.

"UPACK - WORST MOVING EXPERIENCE EVER --"
UPACK - WORST MOVING EXPERIENCE EVER --
**DO NOT use this company unless they will GUARANTEE IN WRITING that they can and will deliver your belongings to you. -- In our case, they refused to deliver our belongings. DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU! **-- read below --
We hired UPACK to move us to Hawaii-- and we thought that the experience would be easy and economical..... not the case. After we arranged everything and carefully walked through their entire process including being assured repeatedly that they could drop off and pick up the cubes at our address-- a few days before the cubes were to be delivered, they emailed us to say that they refused to send a delivery truck into the Hollywood Hills (where we live), so we called them and they gave us no choice. We were forced (by the last minute situation) to pay another mover at additional $1400 to move our belongings to UPACK's truck depot in Pocoima and we had to spend a day loading all our possessions ourselves in THE PARKING LOT OF THEIR TRUCKING COMPANY. After that we called to 100% guarantee they could access our destination address (on a normal street with a HUGE cul-de-sac in Hawaii) AND DELIVER THE CUBES TO US. They promised us up and down that the delivery would happen— and that there was no way this would happen twice --but of course they were wrong. After the cubes arrived in Hawaii, the Honolulu office called us and told us they refused to deliver the cubes to us, claiming the truck couldn’t turn around or some other reason that according to them made it NOW impossible— completely contradicting what we were already told. So, they basically HELD US HOSTAGE. They refused to deliver our belongings and refused to try to find another solution. SO, WE WERE FORCED TO PAY A THIRD MOVER AT THE LAST MINUTE $1100(!!) to pick up and repack everything into another truck to go from Honolulu to our house in windward Oahu.
If any possibility of this huge mess was made clear at the start, WE NEVER WOULD HAVE USED UPACK. They claim something about this info is in their fine print— but they PROMISED US IT WOULDNT HAPPEN AGAIN and then they spring this on you AFTER THE FULL AMOUNT IS PAID and they have all your possessions— essentially HOLDING YOU HOSTAGE and giving you no option other than paying an additional mover — or in our case, having to pay two additional movers COSTING AN ADDITIONAL $2500 (and the total of the 3 movers well exceeding the price of the full-service movers we contacted) plus a lot of unnecessary stress and aggravation.
Afterward, in exchange for the major inconvenience, their customer service rep offered us $100. (despite it costing us an additional $2500), leaving us with an additional $2400 bill and a lot of unnecessary stress and aggravation.
So in the end, BUYER BEWARE!! THE TRUE COST OF USING THIS COMPANY IS NOT CLEAR WHEN CONTRACTING THEM. They claim there is a disclaimer buried somewhere in their fine print, but the fact that pick up and delivery of your belongings is NOT GUARANTEED and needs to BE made clear up front. According to UPACK, the decision to DELIVER YOUR BELONGINGS IS LEFT TO THE destination workers AFTER THEY HAVE YOUR MONEY and they have the option (without any written criteria and at their complete discretion) to simply refuse to deliver your belongings — AFTER YOU'VE PAID IN FULL, requiring you to pay another company to move your belongings on one or more ends of the journey. The Hawaii office says this happens a lot — so it very well could happen to you too— so why would anyone use this company? Why don’t they figure this out or AT LEAST make it very clear? Everyone deserves to know the extremely unclear cost of using this company AND GET A WRITTEN GUARANTEE THAT THEY WILL DELIVER YOUR BELONGINGS TO YOUR ADDRESS BEFORE PAYMENT IS REMITTED.

"Where do we begin about the false…"
Where do we begin about the false advertising of a pod being delivered and an oversize flatbed truck showing up. This could not fit in the driveway so they left it on a hill requiring movers to move. Uphill all of the items. Where in one of the movers just failed to return. They were late in dropping it off and the guy who picked it up knocked out a bunch of Hydro wires and ripped part of a house off that was attached to the wire and just kept going! Can we talk about a lack of integrity here? They required me to pay extra because the guy who wiped out my neighborhood claims that it wasn’t 13 feet after he put some boarding up that was all a shambles and that it was now 15 feet. In any event the price went from $3000 to $3700 I guess they’re trying to make up money For what they will need to have to pay back on the house they damaged. Unacceptable, use anybody else but this company. Now they’re threatening not to give me my items. I’m happy to post their despicable email.

"We are in an ongoing claims for…"
We are in an ongoing claims for reimbursements of damages which caused irreparable water damage to our furniture & household goods. ABF / U pack Company based in Arkansas only wants to pay pennies for damages in excess of $30,000. Due to their NEGLIGENCE of providing a DEFECTIVE MOVING TRAILER with existing and known leakage problems. Which they admitted to in writing as we were attempting to recover a FAIR & reasonable valuation. They resorted to their corporate legal team who denied the claims and only wanted to settle for 2 cents per pound of the items destroyed by their negligence! They had NUMEROUS other misrepresentations and simply couldn’t CARE LESS about their Senior citizens clients on a fixed incomes. This has been an ONGOING nightmare for the past year with ABF / Upack companies. Their BBB affiliation and arbitration agreement is used only for their advantages and is useless for their aggrieved customers! We are in the process of filing complaints with several D.A’s where they conduct business. Stay tuned!

"No (genuine) compensation for stolen items"
I followed their instructions (got the exact padlock they suggested to use) to ship things from NC to (including storage it cost over $1800)...when I received the Relocube in Missouri the padlock was missing and someone had taken the only really things of value in there: my electronics. I contacted U-Pack who put me through to their claims department ABF and genuinely assumed they were a legit company that wasn't going to brazenly scam people.
But when I filed the claim and they said: we have no evidence anything was wrong with your shipment but as "a gesture of goodwill" we are offering you $25 (for over $300 worth of equipment). When I asked what I could have done, they just waffled. I spoke to their manager and got the same nonsense about how they have no evidence and I should have looked at the contract. After speaking to them for a long time I realize that essentially the only thing I could have done was NOT use them...there is ZERO protection for things getting stolen (1) they won't accept that it was stolen and (2) base it on the purported weight of the items!
I essentially paid $1800 to get $300+ worth of things getting stolen and a claims department that pretends paying $50 (their final offer) is a "gesture of goodwill."
If you're going to use them, just make sure there are no expensive things in there and take photos of everything before locking things up, before you open the doors, and just after.
