U-Pack Moving

"Don't believe the 5-star reviews"
Don't believe the 5-star reviews; it's obvious they are fake or written by U-Pack employees in order to boost their rating. It is very likely they are utilizing companies whose sole purpose is to spam 5-star reviews on sites like these.
Now, on to my experience. The online quote is misleading at best and predatory at worst. It's not an estimate; it's a lie. The quote will be at least $1,000 less than the actual cost.
When selecting the desired footage, do not select an even number. You are required to install a bulkhead, but the footholds for it are every two feet (5', 7', 9', etc.). If you set your quote at 8' and pack your belongings up to 8', you will have to install the bulkhead at the 9' mark and then be charged an extra $123.
You can find a better company to accommodate your move, I promise you. The only reason people end up using U-Pack is because they lied about the quote. Whatever your quote is, add $1000 to it and expect it to be even higher than that at the end of the day. To say this company is dishonest and shady would be the understatement of the year. Shame on them, and shame on me for falling into their trap.

"We used a U-Pack trailer to move from California to Missouri"
We used a U-Pack trailer. The drop offs and pick ups were on time, the equipment was clean, everyone was courteous and professional, and there was no upsale for insurance (we did verify coverage through our insurer). We used the entire trailer, and the cost they quoted was on the penny and $1200 less than a six foot smaller truck from a well known moving company -- plus no charges for fuel and hotels and no wear and tear on us. We would absolutely use them again!

"First"
First, they were a day late delivering the cube. Then they were 1 day late picking it up to be delivered. I was supposed have it delivered 1 to 3 days after and I received it a week later. The contract said 1 to 3 days, so if you need your items right away, I suggest you do not use this company.

"My secured belonging was delivered with…"
My secured belonging was delivered with several items broken. I filed an insurance claim with the insurance I purchased, and they denied my claim with their analyst stating," the driver and truck were not in any accidents," so I am at fault for my broken items.
The items the reckless drivers broke totaled $1400, but Upack did not care. They do not care about their customers.
I have used this company thrice in the last four years and spent nearly $10K, so I am very disappointed.

"Save your money and your sanity"
If you’re moving alone, there’s really no use for this company. As a woman, the women representatives at the service center in the Minnesota location are snarky and aggressive and overall the customer service is just terrible.
When I asked for my tracking number for my Relo cube, I was told it wouldn’t make a difference…what?! Just supply the tracking number and do your job, no matter what.
News flash: Stop allowing your “drivers” to make their schedule and actually set them up with one that works for everyone.

"This company completely scammed me"
This company completely scammed me. They quoted me almost $1,000 LESS last week than what they are trying to charge me now. I tried to speak to someone in charge and the man on the phone would not transfer me or help me at all. I don’t understand how my price sky rocketed over night with no explanation. I will never trust this company again.

"Track your trailer"
My own experience; so receiving the trailer in PR to load was not a problem and I wrote several times to deliver to Williamston, NC.
Well someone took it amongst themselves to send the trailer to Raleigh, NC 1.5 hours away, where sending it to Kingston, NC .5 hour down the road would of been better.
The deception came where if I wanted my things, I had to pay another 400 dollars to bring the trailer to Williamston because someone screwed up and forget about you being right.
Then I get a damaged loading ramp, the driver was the only one who could make it work.
The nerves of customer service telling me to rent a ramp and I will get reimbursed.
Are you crazy?!
I'm 62 years old and you want me to just pick up a 200 or 300lb ramp!
Stupid is the stupidity that comes out of people's mouth.

"No exceptions, even with Hurricane Ian barreling down on us."
Everything seemed to go well when I first booked this move. We were scheduled to have the packed cubes picked up on Wednesday, September 28, 2022. Well, guess what happened on that day? Hurricane Ian happened. Ian was headed right toward where we were moving to. I delayed the pickup until we found out if the property we were moving to made it through the storm. Well, it didn't. We had power lines down, wires on the ground, trees, and debris to clean up, and some flooding. I had to cancel the move until we had a safe place to move to. U-Pack charged me $600 for holding 4 cubes for one extra day, which they never mentioned on the phone. Plus they charged me $150 for canceling the move. To make things even worse, they were supposed to come and pick up the empty cubes the next day (that we had to unpack and put in our garage). Well, now it is Saturday (Oct. 1) and the cubes are still in our driveway. When I called yesterday they told me the guy was running late and might not pick them up until Monday. Why would I have to pay $600 for having the cubes in my driveway an extra day when they weren't picking them up for three more days?? This was all out of our control because of a hurricane. I am so disappointed with U-Pack and how they handled this situation. Where is the compassion for hurricane victims?

"Don’t use UPack"
Don’t use UPack. Moved my daughter from NYC to NC. The truck was to be there on Friday 09/23/2022. Told us the driver was unable to get there, plus they don’t work weekends. Told me that they would be there yesterday 09/26. Never showed up driver was behind and would be there Tuesday. Got there at 3PM. Driver just dropped off the trailer and left. It’s sitting in the middle of the street and we are responsible for any fines and to get the trailer moved.
Had to hire movers at $200 per hour to unload, took 10 minutes for them to finish. We rented a 5 cubic ft. Space on the truck.
Driver said to my wife, life’s a B, I’m not waiting, not even 30 seconds. He just dropped the trailer and took off. It’s sitting in the middle of the street in Wilmington NC. A city street.
This is a real business?????
DO NOT USE THEM, EVER!!!

"I'd give it zero if I could"
I'd give it zero if I could. I called in on a weekend and got someone who was contracted, not employed. She did nothing to understand how much I had to move. She just wanted a commission. There are all kinds of information she should have discussed. I told her I was buying a home to close about 3 weeks later and she never mentioned the storage after the truck got to Florida was $250/day! ABF, the trucking company charges $900/mo! What a rip off! oh, and their movers on their website. so many problems I can't get them all documented but let's start with they put a metal storage stand on top of a custom made special wood dresser with no pad! I am so worried about how my items faired that I could not get to. We had to unload half the truck to get tons of boxes in the front of the truck which only had furniture and fix all the lack of protective packing issues. I'll see them in court.
