"My Name, My Home: A Caregiver’s Plea"
I have attempted to have my ex’s name removed from the mortgage. I explained to the assessor that my ex has agreed to transfer the deeds to me on the condition that I first clear her name from the joint loans. To facilitate this, I paid off the remaining personal loan with Coventry, which demonstrates my creditworthiness. I also conveyed that I have settled other secured loans and that there are no longer any third-party charges on the title register.
I pointed out that my ex hasn’t contributed financially for the past five years, and I have been making all the repayments on my own as a carer. When I informed the assessor that I became self-employed as a carer shortly after COVID and that my earnings are under £12,500 per year—an amount that is untaxable—she continued to question the source of my income. I have made it clear that I could provide Coventry with my bank statements instead of payslips, which do not apply to me. My credit score is good (almost 700), and I can comfortably maintain the current repayment rate on my own like I have been so far.
During our conversation, it became apparent that the young assessor I spoke with was merely following a script rather than applying professional judgment. After being with Coventry for 20 years, I find it incredibly frustrating to be informed that I did not meet their scoring criteria and am unable to remove my ex from the mortgage as a result. What more does Coventry want from me? I cannot change my job at this time since someone relies on me as their carer. I truly don't understand the ethics of your business.

"Friendly and efficient "
It’s great to get help and advice face to face in a real branch. Cerrie at Coventry has provided this regularly for us , taking time to make herself available, advising on types of accounts and transfers. Friendly and efficient, certainly gives the Coventry BS a leading edge over other account providers.

"Very poor interest rate "
I've not been paying attention too much to my interest rate with Coventry, I logged in today and saw that it is a pathetic 3.5% (with me only allowed 4 withdrawals a year) 212 Platform is offering 5% with unlimited withdrawals, It is a no brainier with £20k it is an extra £20 a month interest, I will be switching across to 212 with their switch function ASAP.

"Why can't everyone be like the Coventry?"
I have been a member now for over 35 years and now have moved away and deal with the Coventry by app or phone. Today I had to phone and the level of servcie could not be bettered; a very brief wait on the phone, dealing with somebody who was polite, easy to understand and with a can do attitude. This was always my expereince when I was living in the W Midlands and using branches. Absolutely excellent service
