"Excellent phone service"
Dealing with their power of attorney and bereavement teams during my aunt's dementia and then after her death made a difficult time so much easier. They have a great phone service and are super helpful.

" MONDAY 31ST MARCH 2025,THE SLIDING…"
ON MONDAY 31ST MARCH 2025,THE SLIDING DOOR OF THE COVENTRY BUILDING SOCIETY OF 14 HIGH STREET KIDLINGTON OXFORDSHIRE OX5 2DH IS FAULTY, AND THEREFORE ANYONE WHO USES A MOBILITY SCOOTER OR A WHEELCHAIR ARE UNABLE TO GAIN ACCESS TO ENTER THIS BRANCH!
THE ATTITUDE OF THE STAFF INSIDE ARE RUDE AND VERY UNHELPFUL!!!
I WAS GETTING A PASSBOOK UPDATED ON BEHALF OF SOMEONE ELSE, AS THE INTEREST IS PAID ON THE 31ST OF MARCH 2025.
I HAVE DONE THIS EVERY YEAR FOR THIS PERSON, BUT TODAY THEY REFUSED TO UPDATE THE PASSBOOK SHOWING THE INTEREST, AS THEY SAID THAT THE ACCOUNT ISN'T IN MY NAME. IT IS A DISGRACE ESPECIALLY I HAVE THE POWER OF ATTORNEY FOR THIS PERSON!
WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS BRANCH AT ALL!!!
HOPE THIS BRANCH CLOSES DOWN AND GOOD RIDDANCE TO THOSE THAT WORK THERE!!!

" Will Coventry Sort Toxic Interest-Only Mortgage?"
Bank of Scotland/Sainsburys had sold me a toxic interest-only mortgage; its most blatant defect
was a £3,389 bogus-services fee that was added onto the debt principal which accrued in 2021. Somehow this year the mutual Coventry Building Society, through their new subsidiary Cooperative Bank PLC, acquired my irregular mortgage. I wish to redeem the mortgage now; my accountant advises me that Coventry BS must reduce the final debt principal by well-over £3,389 compensation in accordance with the FCA formula that was applied to similar overcharges on PPI. However, at Coventry BS:—their Coop Bank PLC staff have for the last 2 months stalled and feigned to miscomprehend my all-in mortgage-redemption applications.

"Disappointed"
Wanted some information about moving to another account internally which had a deadline. I used webchat - they just asked me to call in. Dialled the number and gave up after 15 minutes of being on hold. Not great customer service.

"Great service at the Melksham branch"
My daughter and I recently visited the Melksham branch to discuss ISAs. It was a bit complicated because it involved a move from a Child ISA via a Maturity one to both Fixed Term and readily accessible versions, but all on the cusp of the change in Financial Year! Alison couldn't have been more helpful, explaining the process as we went through, helping with the forms, and all with a very cheery and positive attitude. By the time we left the branch everything was set up, and my daughter and I were more than happy, having anticipated that it might all be rather difficult. I would thoroughly recommend the branch, and Alison in particular.

"What decade are their systems locked …"
What decade are their systems locked into?! Don't they realise?
Been with them for years, but totally frustrated by the time it takes to get things done online.
I was shocked that, online, I can't process a payment out, to my approved nominated account until the next working day.
In this instance, I was online just after midnight 28th and the earliest date available to me was 31st.
Yes I do understand not processing over a weekend or by a certain cut off time, but this seems antiquated.
I did send a secure message, but they give themselves 2 working days to answer that too.
It doesn't compare well in comparison now.
I'm disabled, and can't easily reach a branch.
29th Update.
Interestingly, they responded on this thread much quicker than to my secure online message.
However, I did respond to their 'their reaching out' message. Waste of time.
I got nowhere and the result stays the same.
Their replies just told me their usual processes and timescales, which I had already read online.

"Archaic and incompetent "
Firstly, they run on archaic systems and post which is not reliable. In 2025 this is a bit ridiculous to have such limited capabilities for online and apps. We have to wait for the post to know if our interest rate is going up or down, making payments a nightmare. Secondly, we are selling and our buyer had the mortgage application approved only to have them come back in the final stages and demand tax information for the latest year, delaying and jeopardizing the sale! Why would you not bring this up months ago when they applied! But also to expect them do a tax return with one weeks notice to completion date (self employed) at this stage is outrageous. Ridiculous to jeopardize an entire sale chain and delay everyone because of this. Not to mention now the entire chain is getting slapped with the stamp duty increases because of you. Thanks!!!! We told the buyers to try to look for other options but the damage is already done now.
