I found it easy to open an account on their website. Today I have withdrawn some monies and the security was excellent and gave me simple step by step process.

Been into the Shirley branch today and had my annual review of accounts with Sam.
I am dyslexic and autistic so very specific with my needs and Sam really helped with managing my finances to ensure I am comfortable for the next 12 months.
She took time to talk through things and puts it easily so I can understand.
She summarised everything perfectly for me and wrote it all down so I can take it away ready for next year’s review.
I am really happy she took the time to make sure my money works as hard as it can for me and went through all pros/cons and risks associated to my decision making, made it all a smooth process and easy to understand.
If anyone is in a similar position to myself I highly recommend the Coventry, all it took was a phone call and an appointment was made.
Other then looking after my health, my finances are paramount to my life so having the reassurance that this has been done is a huge weight lifted off my shoulders and knowing I can do that annually is amazing. Not having to fork out a fortune for guidance on my savings is great.
Sam definitely put my needs first with product fit and no sales is always a plus.

I phoned and spoke with a rude and argumentative lady,she virtually accused me of lying about transferring an ISA to Tembo,she needs retraining.Will not be investing with this company again!!

"Still in the age of paper and post"
Terrible paper based process to set up a savings account. Filled out the forms online, but that didn't open the account, instead I had to wait for paper forms to sign. When they arrived they said I needed to send back a cheque (do these even exist) to open the account. This isn't true as you can transfer money in once the account is opened. Sent the forms back, oops too slow, the account type was no longer available FFS. Went through the process again, got sent a letter with a telephone code in. Changed it online and then tried to set up online services. This failed using id and then the system didn't recognise the new password I had just set up. Spoke to the call centre who couldn't help but they could send me another letter. In the meantime I had made a small payment into the account electronically ... But the operator couldn't see this. Paying to other accounts at other banks happens almost instantly so where has this money gone.
The interest rate is good, if you can actually put money in, but don't expect an easy set up process.

"Can’t get money back "
Account matured but cannot get money back easily - asking to send back to account it’s been paid from, but have to wait 5 days for a telephone passcode letter or 4 days to wait for the IT to reset account or go to a branch that opens 10-4:45 which isn’t so easy when you work 9-5. Everyone is lovely when you speak to them but basically can’t help you. It’s like an awful comedy. I won’t invest here again as they make it very difficult to get to your own money!
Thanks Erin for reply but honestly I don’t have the time or energy, spent too much time on phone yesterday talking to different people who escalated to their managers and still no help. Now I have to cancel work meetings to get time off for something I should be able to do by phone or online. Didn’t realise your systems were so archaic and wish I had read views on here before investing a year ago!

I have had three conversations today with agents from Coventry Building Society and i must say how very helpful all were. Im in the process of moving ISA to there and all talked me through the process which would have taken me ages to do on my own , so thank you all and sorry i didnt manage to press the buttons after the calls

"So slow"
Applied for an ac online 8/2/25, received application form to sign 18/2/25, we were away so didn’t send it back until 24/2/25, received letter 11/3/25 to say that ac is no longer available. The letter was dated 10 days ago. I don’t think your account opening system works Coventry!
