Their levels of customer service are truly awful. Calls and emails don't get answered. They didn't turn up to do the job and so it had to be re-arranged. The damp proofing course didn't work because they did it incorrectly. That's not me saying that either, but rather the man who came to do the 12 month inspection for them. They re-did it, but the rising damp is still there. I have been trying to contact them for weeks to try to get them to come back but you just can't get past reception. Avoid these people, their service is just off the scale terrible. It's a borderline scam, in my opinion.

These people are trying to get reviews taken down. They liquidate the company and, from the ashes, comes a company with almost the same name and they try to absolve themselves of any moral responsibility that came with the original company. They even got TrustPilot to tell me that they think I had reviewed the wrong company. I hadn't!
I've had this before, whereby TrustPilot allow companies to have bad reviews taken down. Shame on them if they do so again.

Dealing with Keith the surveyor was excellent. He was very helpful. We needed our roof sealed properly and damp proofing in our hallway.
Jim, Alex and Brandon came and did the jobs in just 2 days and tidied up after themselves both days. Would highly recommend them 👌

Google kindly reminded me that I reviewed this company some time ago and sat with a coffee I decided to read some reviews. This company is definitely a scam. Their response to negative reviews is disgusting, argumentative and you can tell written by a total twit. An interesting one I read was that they claim to be a well established company but actually they aren't. Always be wary of companies that aren't transparent. Your guarantees are probably worthless.

"Failed Damp Proofing, Worthless Guarantee"

Website states Home Energy Save GB was established 1983 and over 40 years experience. However, Companies House says this company was incorporated in 2024. The company that owned the website before Home Energy Save GB (Home Energy Save LTD, renamed NRG 4U Ltd in 2024 before being liquidated in 2024) was incorporated in 2020.

Why is this relevant? Because Home Energy Save LTD and Home Energy Save GB both offer a 25 year guarantee on damp works, but it is invalid if the company liquidates.

I had several thousand pounds worth of work done in 2022 which is no longer guaranteed because Home Energy Save LTD liquidated and was replaced by Home Energy Save GB, who have the same address, website, phone number and team of people. I have not been able to find out how often some version of this has happened since some version of this company was established in1983.

I am not suggesting any wrong doing. I am just alerting others the guarantee is not as good as it sounds.

Home Energy Save Ltd diagnosed rising damp at my property, ruled out any other potential cause, assured me a full damp course would solve the problem, and undertook the work. The damp course Home Energy Save Ltd undertook for me failed to work. They did a top-up which also failed. Their own surveyor confirmed a further top-up would be necessary, and then I never heard from them again.

By the time I followed up the company had been liquidated and replaced by Home Energy Save GB. However, Home Energy Save GB have provided bad customer service too. I spoke to SHAUN SAUNDERS who after a lengthy discussion said he would arrange a survey with his new team. After some prompting he confirmed this would be the same surveyors who had visited previously under Home Energy Save LTD. I asked the purpose of the survey and he said, as good will, if the surveyors believe the original diagnosis to be correct but the installation to be done incorrectly, they might do a further top up for free. I suspected this would never happen, but gave him, the benefit of the doubt.

I asked how they would be able to assess that and, again after some pushing, Shaun told me that diagnosing the cause of damp or the quality of the job could never be done accurately and that I would have to trust the “experience of his team”. This sounds like guesswork to me, but I agreed to the survey as I am several thousand pounds down and can’t afford to start again with another company.

Shaun said he would call back in the next 3 weeks to arrange that was 4 months ago. I have never heard back from Shaun and no survey has been done. When I have followed up myself I have been told Shaun is busy or away from his desk and would get back to me. I have also been told only he is the appropriate person for me to speak with.

In summary, the website is inaccurate, the quality of work is poor (and the same team is working for the "new” company as was working for the previous company, so no reason to believe that has changed), the guarantee is worthless if they decide to liquidate again, and the customer service is poor at best and dishonest at worst.
