"Pressure sales tactics"

Pressure sales tactics, dubious advice, but they told me that if I didn’t get the work done the council would fine me. Agreed to £1500 damp course thinking at that price it would be a days work. workmen arrived about midday and were done by 1300. Checked out the stuff they used, and you can buy it on amazon for about £70 and they only used less than half the amount you can buy for that price. So 2 workmen amounted to 1 hour x2= 2 work hours cost me about £730 per hour labour. Now I realise the company takes a cut, and they did travel about 60 miles to do the job, but that’s a pretty big profit margin and I bet they’d travel to Lands end for profit margins like this. They said they would review job in 12 months, but I realise I’ve been conned out of £1500 and I don’t want to be conned out of any more.

Please don’t trust the good reviews. The two workmen virtually held me hostage while they demanded payment and a review. I told them I was going to pay when I got home which I did, but they were still reluctant to let me go until I wrote a review, because they know you are likely to write a positive review if you write it while they are there.

And of course no one realises that the job is a waste of money until 12 months later when the damp is still going to be there. By that time they will have probably closed the company and open a new one with a different name, if the other negative views are anything to go by.

If you watch them do the job as I did, you will realise that anyone with a drill and a filler gun could do the job. It’s as simple as drilling a hole in the mortar [so easier than drilling brick] then filling that hole with filler, which in this case is supposed to be a waterproof substance that gradually diffuses into the surrounding mortar. If you know how to drill a hole you can do this job for £30 not £1500.

"Great experience"

The experience was great since the survey. Then we booked in for the job to be done, Ron and Darren were at my house on time, as agreed, carried out all the work with a lot of attention and care, very polite and gentle.

I already recomended the company to a couple of friends, to be honest.

"Avoid this company at all costs"

Avoid this company at all costs. I don’t understand why the reviews are so good. Perhaps because they ask you to do a review when they have the sale.

Man came out to do a damp “survey” measured my house as 52 linear metres and quoted £5k for a injection damp proof course. Rang his manager and gave me a “discount” of a £1k then proceeded to do a hard sale and said the price might not be guaranteed if his manager knew I was getting other quotes. And that it needed doing before another winter etc… Admitted he was on commission. I felt pressurised into putting down a deposit (which thankfully I got back). Since then I’ve had two other quotes from different companies for injection damp proof course. Both measured the house as 32 linear metres and price from both was £2k cheaper than the home energy save £5k quote. Also information Home energy save “surveyor” told me was incorrect about various things. One of the other companies who came out to do a survey said he had already put two complaints in about how this company operate. Please avoid.

"Installation of PIV and extractor fan "

I contacted home energy save as there was a lot of condensation in my loft and mold growing in my son's room. Barry came for a free survey and suggested a PIV and kitchen extractor fan. This was the third suggestion I received for the PIV. We chose this company as they were kind and professional on the phone and gave updates when their team would arrive at our house. Andy and Colin installed the PIV and extractor fan in 1 day. They were professional and just put their heads down to get it done. I appreciated that as I have two young kids with me. The units are working great. This company may cost a bit more, but the service and quality of work is worth the price. They were on-time, provided great communication and professional.

"EXCELLENT PROFESSIONAL SERVICE"

Saw the advert on Facebook for a free, no obligation survey which to put our minds at rest, we requested. The initial call came quickly and an appointment made in equally quick time.
Our very professional surveyor was Ray Sinclair who was excellent, what an ambassador for himself and the company. He was courteous, professional and very personable; he has a wealth of experience in various areas which he clearly puts to good use in his surveys. He explained what he was doing in nice simple terms and coached us through any issues or questions we had in a superb manner. Couldnt have had a better engagement for this task tbh.
In all, this customer journey was as it said on the tin, free, no obligation survey and trust me, it is better to know now and before the bill gets high (think the farming saying, 'the first bill is often the smallest' applies).
That we did not need to proceed is a bonus but I have no doubt that if we had have needed to engage this company's work, ably demonstrated by the very professional and amiable Ray, we would not have to look anywhere else.

"Scammed me out of £2000"

We had a representative come out and conduct a survey in Summer 2023. We were told the issue was due to humidity and that we need to install a PIV unit which would fix the problem. This cost us £2000 and almost a year on there was no improvement. I contacted the company to come out and review the issue, it took me 2 months to finally get them to come out after being ignored for weeks and then cancelled on twice. It’s only when I threatened to report them to trading standards that they were there the next day.

This visit took place on the 26th September and I was told by the two men who visited that it was a completely different issue than had originally been diagnosed and that the PIV unit may have helped slightly but wasn’t the solution to the issue. I have yet to hear anything back from them despite trying to contact them multiple times. It’s now the end of November and I have been forced to now deal with this via a private ombudsman, trading standards and legal action.

I have a 10 month old baby in the house, this company as far as I can tell is scamming people out of thousands of pounds and has no care for the safety of their clients including the wellbeing of young babies

"Very quick and efficient service"

Very quick and efficient service. The work was carried out by Roger, Jamie and George who were friendly and a great team, explaining everything as they completed the PIV installation and DPC. On completion they cleaned up and all rubbish was removed . Excellent job - I look forward to reaping the benefits.

"Manipulative sales techniques!"

I had a very unfortunate encounter with this company while I was being given a quote for work. I did not go ahead because of the attitude of the member of staff who visited so cannot speak to the quality of their work.

I felt that I was rushed to make a decision (paying a deposit that day and book in immediately while being put on speaker phone to another man in the office) and that the way they spoke to me was designed to try to make me feel frightened and agree to the work while I am pregnant which they mentioned several times. It felt both manipulative and sexist. This was really uncomfortable and made me feel like I couldn't trust him or the company as far as I could throw them.

I think this is pretty appalling behaviour especially in the home of a heavily pregnant woman. I would have appreciated being forewarned of these dodgy tactics and would avoid!
