"I rented with Ace in Newark due to low…"

I rented with Ace in Newark due to low rate instead of company recommended brand. Three issues, transportation and car readiness awful. Even though they are 3 min away, they said no pickup for 20 min. and you had to call them to get picked up. Got to loc and they made me show my personal ins card because I declined ins. as I always do on work related trips. They used bait/switch, how would I like to drive a newer car for $100 more and my car would be quite awhile before it was ready. I declined the new car and had to wait for quite awhile for MY car that I requested was cleaned (cars are supposed to be ready)!!!!!

"BEWARE - Delayed Deposit Refund & Hidden Fees"

[Update Below] Drivo has fees that are not easily visible, so they may be easily looked over. PLEASE read the fine print with this company. They still have yet to refund the security deposit 2 months after drop-off and customer service hasn't been very helpful or responsive.

Update 11/10
After returning my vehicle almost 3 months ago, I have yet to receive my refund. I even had my bank on a 3-way call trying to resolve the issue and my bank representative was frustrated after 5-minutes of back and forth with a Drivo supervisor who just kept saying “we’ve released the payment” even though my bank still hasn’t seen any trace of a refund. Drivo hasn’t been able to provide any transaction ID, statement, or receipt of this refund I should have received months ago. I cannot STRESS enough, this company is not well managed. I will update this post when resolved.

"When another car renting agency refused…"

When another car renting agency refused to return my calls and emails I turned to the tried and true. Drivo. For the past two years I've only rented from them at Laguardia and Newark. I've been greeted enthusiastically and assured that my needs would be met. My last rental my plane was late but Shaun at Newark was able to not only to get me a car but an upgrade as well. He remembered to credit my 10% discount and helped load luggage. He also gave a warm welcome on my return. Great customer service.

"I just filed a complaint with BBB about Drivo"

Rented a car with "ACE-rent-a-car at 408 Carnegie Avenue, Newark (EWR)" via rentalcars.com and picked it up on 10/7/2023. I just filed a complaint with BBB about their false and misleading advertising on the unlimited mileage, upgrade scheme, and penalty for driving to certain states on unlimited mileage contracts without clear or visible disclosures on rentalcars.com. I will dispute all and any additional charges they put on my credit card account... since I have booked and pre-paid with rentalcars.com for an 11days rental with unlimited mileage. I also paid all the highway tolls at the cash stations, as well as an online account to automatically pay for the tolls when there were no cash stations available. I returned the car on time, full tank of gas, and had no new scratches or dents on 10/17/2023 at the same pickup location. DO NOT TRUST THIS STAFF... FULL OF BS AND TRICKS TO CHARGE YOU AN UPGRADE!!!!
