I've rented from the Brighton Beach location a few times now and it's always been very efficient and seamless. The people at the counter are always very nice and professional. I will definitely rent from them again.

Made a reservation in advance for a full sized car for the period 12/26/22 - 12/29/22. The reservation summary quoted $209.34 for the 3 days @45.92 per day + other incidentals.
Flight got cancelled, and arrived at the Newark counter only on 12/28/22 at around 10 am. Gave the agent my confirmation number, and told him I'd be dropping the car back the next day (12/29/22). The agent told me that they did not have a car just for one day. I asked him to honor the original reservation for 3 days, and it was ok to charge me the full amount.
The agent apparently made a new reservation that came to $481.97 for 2 days (since I'd be bringing the car back after 24 hours i.e after 10 am the next day).
He even added CDW, roadside assistance and liability. I told him I don't need those since I already had those, and had additionally purchased renter car damage insurance just for this booking. But oddly the agent kept repeating that whether I chose CDW, roadside assistance and liability, or did not choose to do so, the charges came with the reservation.
It was important for me to be somewhere that same day and hence made the decision on the spot it was more important for me to be where I had planned to be, than to waste more time at the Drivo counter, and so told the agent to do what he wanted to do, and just get me the car.
After the trip, and once settled back home, I did call up Drivo customer care and explained the situation, hoping they could do something, but the line just went silent after around 30 minutes into the call with me explaining the situation..
My advice to folks, Drivo is the equivalent of a hole-in-the-wall operation among car rental companies. Go for more established ones like Enterprise, Avis, etc. even if it means a few extra bucks. They do indulge in predatory pricing too, but are more professional and the situation like I described above would never happen.

I am shocked and jealous other people have had good experiences w Drivo. I dealt w the guys at the Elmhurst location and recieved horrible service. Firstly I paid for the 8 day rental in advance (1st mistake). On Christmas after a cancelled flight and luggage being lost I showed up to pick up the car and got slammed with another bill over $400 for insurance and fees. WHAT? I paid $850 for an economy rental w filthy windows and out of date car- i couldnt produce my insurance info on Christmas Day and mine was in the luggage that southwest lost so I couldn't produce it on the spot.
I was dismayed w how they spoke to me not caring about the loss I was already dealing with ( everything for my kids Xmas was in my luggag)
I wanted to cancel my reservation. They said I could not because I already paid!!!!!!!
The next morn8ng I got the insurance paperwork emailed to me and called Drivo to email it to them and they told me nope can't do it because I already paid!!!!!! Does this make any sense? No. I've dealt w this before and other rental co.panirs would switch I surance w a smile. What is the problem with you people? I was strong armed into doing business w you! It won't happen again at this rate. I feel completely disregarded and disrespected.

I rented a GPS from the company and it did not work. I got lost on the way from the airport for an hour and a half. I complained about it and they told me that they would refund me for the BROKEN GPS but all they refunded was half. THIS IS A DISHONEST COMPANY BEWARE!

"Absolutely the worst car rental…"
Absolutely the worst car rental experience I have had. At pick up was advised that I need full coverage. Had already reserved with extra insurance. Guy behind counter kept insisting that I had to have it. Got the car and it rattled everywhere. Alignment was off. Sad for a vehicle with only 40k. I was told to return the car at 7am and a shuttle would be there to take me to airport. I arrived at 6:50am. Shuttle was parked and no workers around. I waited until 7:30am and thankfully the place next door had a shuttle show up. This caused me to miss my flight and I had to wait 4.5hr at airport for the next flight. I missed my kids Christmas program!! The whole experience was terrible. I have never had to give a review like this but this one warrants it!

"Good experience"
It was a last minute rental. I rented it for Thanksgiving weekend. I wanted a compact or economical car but they ran out. They offered me a mid-sized SUV but it looked like a sedan with a hatchback for twice the price but I took it because I need it. I would like some clarification on the insurance policy. When I rented it on line and paid in advance it paid $11 per day for insurance. When I went to pick up, they said that insurance was not enough and had to cancel and get $16 day insurance. The vehicle was great, it ran good without any issues. Farruich checked me when I returned the car. Farruich excellent. The experience was quick and easy. I will definitely use Drivo again in the future.
