"Good car & responsive customer service department"

The rental car was in good condition, clean, and what you would expect from a rental car company in 2023. The prices for Drivo were the most competitive in my area. Customer service reached out after my trip in response to an internal survey and was able to remedy a few issues. This is a huge plus for me and shows the company is trying to make customers happy.

The only thing keeping this review from 5 stars was the wait time for car pickup. Please have more than one worker behind the counter at airport locations.

Great self drive car service. Dropped and picked car from airport. I saved money on that. Charges were reasonable. They took security which they refunded later. All in all great experience

A proverb says first impressions last longer. I actually enjoy my last experience with Drivo rental car for the 3 days I used the car, everything was perfect.

"Another excellent Drivo experience!"

This is the second time this year that we rented a vehicle from Drivo. The first time was at Newark airport and this last weekend was from the one at LaGuardia airport. Both experiences were very good. In this last rental at La Guardia the car had a slow leak in one of the tires. I drove over to Drivo and Bob took excellent care of us. He exchanged the vehicle for us and even put us in a higher class of car. In addition he did the entire procedure in about ten minutes. I can’t say enough good things about this excellent employee and i am grateful for the care he gave us.

"RENT FROM SOMEWHERE ELSE"

RENT FROM SOMEWHERE MORE REPUTABLE. I saw the mixed reviews and I regret not listening to those saying do not rent from here. They gave me such a hard time when I arrived to pick up the car, adding on extra fees, and making me feel bad for not wanting to use their insurance. They basically tried to scare and threaten me saying “if there’s any small scratch or dent on the car then we have to report it to your car insurance and it will be on record permanently.” Then they finally hand me the car & it is already full of scratches & dents. I took photos and videos with the fear that they would try to blame one on me & screw me over. Another issue was I accidentally booked the car for 5 days instead of 4 and initially the dude said he couldn’t change it, that I could return the car on the sooner date but that he would still have to charge the 5 days. I demanded to speak to a supervisor and he went to the back and God knows if he spoke to anyone, he came back out saying the supervisor was able to alter it and he read me the rates again and THEY WERE THE EXACT SAME. I told him you just said the same exact prices and he REFUSED TO ADMIT IT. He just kept trying to make lame excuses to make me feel crazy like a misheard. I was in there for almost an hour before finally getting the banged up car. Awful. Then when I went to return the car on off hours, I had been given the incorrect number for the shuttle and I had to literally flag a shuttle down in the rain for them to take me to the airport.

"Dishonest and poor service"

I went through Expedia and booked a car through them. My mistake that I went with the option that they choose the type of car. A week before I rented a car from them at the same rate which went ok but I had chosen the category. This time, with their option to choose, they give you the most damaged and older car. The rate again is the same so I am not paying less money by any means and expecting something extraordinary. When I voiced my concerns, then they exchanged for even a worse and older car because at this time it became a personal issue for them instead of being fair. They lied over the phone several times, made me go back and forth between LaGuardia and JFK locations and yet did what they did because they had the control. Very unfortunate that they treat different people differently. If you have white privilege, you’re probably good to go and will get a decent car. Otherwise, it’s on their discretion how you get treated.

"Dont ever rent from this company they…are scammers"

Dont ever rent from this company they are the worst !!!. They are scammers and everytime you ask for a manager all they get on the line is the same man . He is extremely rude and has no customer service skills. I rented through priceline they charged me $20 a day , When I arrived to the location the lady said i will give you a upgrade for $8.00 more a day. But in the end we paid $20.00 a day for the original vehicle and then $28.00 for the upgrade . Also we wre told when we got there that the the vehicle is not unlimited miles that we have to pay $10.00 a day extra in the end when we handed the vehicle in we were charged $20.00 a day when i asked the manager what is this he said $10.00 for the miles and $10.00 surcharges daily for the miles . Plus all the other charges they added on. I will take thsi to consumer affairs as a comppany owner myself I dont go around lying or scamming my customers.

"Overcharged at the LaGuardia Airport…"

Overcharged at the LaGuardia Airport location. The agency claims that returning the car at 8PM instead of 7:15PM entitles them to charge me for an extra day (and for an extra day of SLI insurance!). When I was returning the car no one mentioned anything about being late or any extra charges being incurred. All I was told was "great, everything is in order." The extra day charge was added surreptitiously, hoping I would not notice. The agency also did not provide me with an updated invoice at the time I dropped off the car, which is unusual, they always sent me a copy of the invoice within minutes of car drop off. Basically they scammed me out of $60.
