"TERRIBLE!"

I booked a van months ago and received several texts, emails, and phone calls to remind me of the booking. I got a text today at 5:00 pm for a reminder. Then I receive a call at 7:00 pm telling me they will not have a van! I was supposed to pick up the van on 6/6/24 for travel on 6/7/24. I AM IRATE! They deserve ZERO stars!!!

"Worst car rental experience in 24 years…"

Worst car rental experience in 24 years of business travel.

Rented a car online, accepted the "we'll pick your provider" deal. Ended up with Ace rent a car managed by Drivo. 1st communication was bad and I never got the message that they were offsite and I had to go to specific locations and call for a shuttle. Annoying but not a major issue. Got the shuttle, was taken to their offsite location. Dirty, disorganized, long line and then told that I had to have proof of full coverage insurance to decline the insurance (not communicated prior... usually leave my insurance documents in the car). Would not accept a decline of insurance, charged me $360 for a week. Left with a dirty car that had dings and banged up a bit, took pictures to be able to argue if anything came back. Still annoying but not BAD yet. Then within 6 hours of a week long rental, the starter died. Ok, getting annoyed... call the road side assistance, they ask where I'm going. So I provide the hotel address where I'm going. When the tow truck gets there, the driver says his instructions are to drop the car at the hotel?! We have to argue with dispatch for almost 2 hours to get someone who understands that dropping a car that wont start at a hotel is just going to generate additional towing charges. Finally they take possession of the car and drop me off. Then the real fun began! No replacement cars available, and no refund until they get the car and can look at it. They say Monday (as this was a Friday night). I argue and argue, finally settling for Monday. Monday comes call at the end of the day, still no refund, they haven't had a chance to review it. Call back Tuesday, and the person says yes we will process your refund. Finish my trip with a different rental car company. When I get home, I get an email about the additional 360.00 charge for insurance. So I research how much they refunded. No refund had been processed. Called again and told the mechanic hasn't looked at it yet. It's been a week + at this point. No effort to resolve the issue, no effort to refund, etc. etc. Now having to dispute the charges on my card. Horrible!

To All Customers Who Are Soon To Become Family, here’s the guide to a standing ovation for Drivo. All the employees there are truly respectful, helpful and caring. I had the honor and privilege to meet Shaun, Shawn & Tim and they were all supportive in helping me get a rental at a great price.

In conclusion, I recommend this location for everyone whose seeking a rental with friendly representatives and not looking to take advantage of you.

"TOTAL SCAM!! - UPDATE!!!"

Update: Drivo contacted me and made it right. They dropped the case. It was greatly appreciated.

TOTAL SCAM!!! I had a terrible experience with Drivo Rent-a-Car. They falsely accused me of causing damage to the car and are overcharging for it. I am currently disputing this with my insurance company, as we refuse to pay for damages I did not cause. They returned my security deposit and assured me everything was fine, only to claim a week later that there was damage.

The before photos clearly show scratches on the bumper, yet they are insisting I am responsible for them. A friend of mine also had a similar experience with Drivo and warned me about their practices.

I strongly advise you to read other reviews as well—many people have reported similar issues. I am taking this to the news outlets to ensure no one else falls for this scam. Be cautious and consider other rental companies.

"These people are THIEVES"

These people are THIEVES. I have rented from them a few times, and each time, they find a tiny scratch which may be at most an inch big and they blame you to bill your insurance. Since I have American Express, I have always had Amex insure the car rental. Drivo Rent A Car actually has had the audacity to charge American Express over $2500 for a tiny one inch scratch which is barely visible. What is wrong with these people? We are in NYC and everyone parallel parks. Obviously, when one does parallel parking, one may tap onto other cars. I've always been extremely careful when I park, nevertheless, others may not be as prudent and they may scratch another car going into a parking spot or coming out of one. How can Drivo dare to charge Amex over $2500 for a tiny scratch? This is how they make their money. Drivo Rent A Car purposely makes their profits by stealing money from Insurance Companies like Amex and charging thousands to fix a puny scratch.

I will never rent from them again. Here are photos as proof of the car, the tiny scratch and the letter that their auto claims company Emailed me. STAY AWAY FROM THESE THEIVES!!!
