"Another bad review for service"

Another bad review for service. The size guide is totalling inaccurate.. after the third attempt at getting a pair to fit I gave up to get a refund and £50 incurred in postal costs. They maybe beautiful shoes but if the sizing / returns is so poor there is no point buying from this company.

"Great product but no cigar"

The thing that made my experience so great is the quality of the product and the speed that they arrived. However, it would be nice to have some sort of communication that tells you when they will arrive. Not best pleased that DPD left a expensive pair of shoes on the doorstep with no warning of of when they would arrive or acknowledgement that they had been delivered. The tracking system is a waste of time and I'm still waiting for an reply to my email asking when they would arrive.

"First Class"

I am the proud owner of a new pair of Arnold Hi Shine Oxfords. The look great and after adding heel grips and a partial insole fit great. So good that they did not breaking in - in fact on the second day wore them instead of my dance shoes for some Lindy-Hop. I nearly only gave 4 stars due to them initially sending me the wrong size however, they retain 5 stars because of the first class way they handled the mistake.

There is an old Indian proverb "What nectar can be drunk with the ears? Answer:Good advice". So it was some forty years ago when a work colleague introduced me to Barkers and since then I have never looked back. And it doesn't stop at buying new, try their refurb service. It's spectacular. Whilst you might initially compare the cost to Timpsons you can't compare the quality, a pair of mine for example have just returned looking like new! And if you're young enough who knows, you may be writing a similar reccomendation forty years from now

As someone who has a fetish for nice shoes I look for excellent quality and I now own 5 pairs of different styles of beautiful Barkers which always draw admiring comments from my friends and family. Barkers are not cheap but you get what you pay for and they'll be here when I'm not haha.

I have bought Barker classic shoes for the past 10 years - I love these. Lovely quality and the leather is nice to touch. The shoes look great with smart casual business attire and they are extremely comfortable too. Only small problem is after the first use one of the laces has snagged perhaps around the metal hook. It is possible to purchase a new set of laces?

Over the past few months I have bought online several pairs of work shoes, Chigwell and Cheltenham designs, some in the sale, some not. Delivery has been good, shoes are great - had several comments - and I can wear them out of the box without problems. I used to buy Church shoes but at nearly £1,000 a go they are now ridiculous. Very happy I have found a very acceptable replacement.

"Shameful level of customer service ! "

I purchased a beautiful pair of Witney - Blue calf hatch size ten shoes online in January, I received a few weeks later by delivery of a pair of size 10 Rosedale cherry grain boots not the shoes I had ordered. I contacted Barker shoes through the online support chat service and explained my problem to which I got an Id number and was told someone would be in touch by email shortly, a week or more later no response, so thinking this was just another glitch I emailed the help line again several days passed and no response, I have now brought the incorrect boots on the plane with me driven to the factory to get the item I ordered in person only to be told they don't have them, undeterred I said I don't need them now or anytime soon just send them when you have them. Then I am told sorry we will just refund you as we don't know when or if we will be producing these again. I have bought dozens of pairs of Barker shoes over the years always a great fit nice style etc. This experience of such poor customer care and communication has left me stunned I really believed when you bought quality crafted products you had invested in an retail experience that came with good customer service, that view has been tainted now with this poor performance by Barker shoes UK. I so dislike sharing a bad review in-fact I'm sure this is my first however on this occasion I feel really disappointed not getting the shoes I bought but then after going to a great amount of trouble returning the wrongly sent item then be told at the factory sorry we cant help you with the shoes you choose we will send you your money back in a few days it beggars belief from such a quality brand. This is an honest review of my own personal experience I really hope others in future receive a more positive experience.
