At the end of the mowing season I confirm that the Spectrum mower purchased in March is an excellent machine. The collection box could be bigger but overall this mower is as good or better than more well known brands that I have used in the past. The Mow Direct friendly advice and recommendation of the Spectrum brand influenced my purchase and I am delighted with the results.

"Lack of communication"
I ordered the mower From Mowdirect’s website on Wednesday 29 May 2024. I didn’t receive any confirmation of my order so I telephoned their help line on 31 May. I was told by the female who answered my call that the order had just gone through and I would receive an email over the weekend. No email arrived.
The Mower arrived on Monday 3 June unannounced. I was expecting a call or an email giving me some indication when it would arrive. Their website stated that I would be informed, just as well I was at home.
It was so well packed that it took me the rest of the day to unpack which involved the complete destruction of the two pallets plus wood and cardboard packaging. I had wanted to order the Premium Delivery Service specifically to avoid this hassle but it wasn’t available at the checkout without any explanation as to why not.
I tried the mower the next day and the engine cut out after about 5 minutes, as I’d only put a small amount of petrol into the tank I assumed it had run out. I put some more petrol in and the same happened. It seemed to me that the fuel cap was not venting so I tried loosening the cap. The engine then ran okay except that every time I moved in the seat the engine faltered. This was caused by the cut-out under the seat being too sensitive. I found that the action of depressing the brake/clutch to select the required gears caused the seat to lift enough to stop the engine.
The Mowdirect website said they had experts to give advice etc so I telephoned and was told that they didn’t have resident experts and I had to send an email to explain my problems. The reply to this email came back saying their MD had the same problem with his Snapper and he mows with the cap loose, not ideal. A new fuel cap was promised under the warranty but when it arrived it was too small. The correct fuel cap was promised and has so far not arrived.
Despite all the promises on Mowdirect website they do not follow up with anything useful. More or less sell it and forget it.
If I knew then what I know now I wouldn’t have bought this ride on.
Never again will I use Mowdirect.

Ordered a new replacement petrol lawnmower, product was at a good purchase price made better with the additional 10% discount. Have bought several products from Mow Direct previously, on this occasion the delivery service was appalling. Received a telephone call to say that the mower would be delivered on the Tuesday and that someone had to be in to receive it, waited in all Tuesday and no delivery arrived. Phoned the delivery company and they stated that the agent had not ticked the correct box therefore the delivery was not scheduled!! They said they could deliver on the Thursday but again someone had to be here to receive the goods, I couldn’t be around all day so asked for it to be delivered on Saturday which they said would be arranged. We had just arrived back home on Friday afternoon, the phone rang and it was the delivery driver stating that he was lost. Gave him the directions which had already been given to the company. The driver arrived and attempted to off load the pallet without moving another large pallet in the back of his truck, eventually he managed to off load the pallet onto my gravel drive. Asked driver if he could take pallet back? He refused thus request. Not a very good delivery experience, if we hadn’t got back home early on the Friday afternoon the mower wouldn’t have been able to be delivered. Unfortunately this delivery problem reflects on Mow Direct.
