"Involved returns and unresponsive service"

The returns procedure involves: (1) a baroque form; (2) a slightly confusing webpage that as it were is the gatekeeper to the form. I have twice asked the company for advice on these matters of making a return. Each time I have had to wait days, and send prompting emails, in order to get a reply.

The company sells some wonderful stuff. Unfortunately, within the United Kingdom, it is one of the _only_ companies that sells much of such stuff. Thus it has its customers rather over a barrel, as it were.

Also: the company, though it sells in the UK, is in Holland; hence the involved return form and, indeed, expenses incurred by making a return. I asked for that expense to be waived, given my bad experience. The company said: no.

Seem to be swimming against the positive tide here but I've had a pretty poor experience with my purchase from this company. Firstly UPS managed to misdeliver it and whoever they gave it to obviously rather liked their free sharpening system and decided to keep it. Obviously this isn't knives and tools fault however the process of obtaining a refund for the item that I never received has been extremely slow and painful and is still ongoing despite refunds having been promised. I have been forced to escalate to PayPal so hopefully I will see some money back eventually...
