Works like it's supposed to, easy to use, nice customer service and overall thing to have . My only suggestion would be to add more sustainable stores, like Mercari, Thread Up, Ebay and also of course Amazon 😃

"Worthless "

I've been a customer for 3.5 years. It was decent until last year when this becomes worthless. Many cash backs were denied and customer support is just a waste of time - they simply don't honor totally eligible cash backs and start siting various reasons which are just nonsense. Monthly fee is high, return is merely 10% which can be easily beaten by discounted gift cards alone.

"A well thought out Scam"

The scam is set up in such a way that you will be paying forward for your membership. In order to get one month's payout, one has to pay membership dues for two months. That means that one has to be purchasing at least $320.00 worth of eligible goods to just break even. I have been member for a few years. Then they suddenly increase the membership 60% in one go. That pressured me to buy stuff in bulk just to break even. Furthermore, they wait two to three months to pay out for purchases that are a few hundred dollars. So, you end up having to maintain membership just to get your payout. That should make zero sense to the consumer.

Good customer service. Quick response time. Just wish cost was less per month.

Several issues!
First the monthly fee is ridiculously too high. Can barely make up the fee with the rebates. Always chasing. Either fee has to go or rebates have to be higher.

Second - only way to secure cash back is to purchase online and then only directly through the ShopSmarter website. Can't always get there directly. Sometimes the rebates never get reported and you are never informed if a rebate has gone thru. The monthly check is always a surprise and way too late.

Third, you can NOT combine with ANY other offer. It seems like all discounts from existing sites are OFF when you try to purchase thru the ShopSmarter web site.

There should be a way to deduct the monthly fee from the incoming rebates.

Finally, doesn't work on any other credit card purchases like in-store or over the phone.

"It's kind of a scam"

I'd said 90% of the time when I make a purchase following their instructions, the cash back is not automatically added to my account. First they tell you you need to wait 7 days before inquiring. After 7 days, you need to send a message through their "Missing Cash Back" mechanism. You receive a return email in 48 hours, asking for documentation. Then after forwarding the receipt/conformation email, sometimes they'll add the cash back, but most times they'll answer saying you need to check back in 6 to 8 weeks. The effect of all this back and forth is usually that you'll forget about that 10% cash back that's missing, and in the meantime, you have to pay their monthly subscription fee (about $12), while waiting for 6-8 weeks go by before you can demand the values owed. Also if you don't send your initial inquiry about missing cash back within 30 days of the purchase, they tell you they're not authorized to investigate missing cash back on purchases made over 30 days ago
