My very first e-bike ever. The bike came very well packaged. Installation was a breeze. Initially post setup, it would not turn on. called customer support and they were super responsive. Two calls - both picked up in very short time. Even got a call back for a dropped call (so rare these days). The issue was I had to turn the key to "On" position. This detail was missing in manuals. The Manual could definitely use some work. The bike looks fantastic, range of 40 miles topping at 20mph. I use pedal assist more than pure electric. I use it every opportunity I get weather permitting.

Just recvd Gotrax G5, have G4max. Both are excellent but improvements in G5 are clear. Great products...G5 Smoother handling with front shocks, great ride, longer deck for less fatigue on feet for long distance ride and slight canted front bar dual braking makes it smoother and easier safer to break. Ergonomic handles excellent step up. Looks of G5 are sharp sleek and smoother conture overall, head light is bright controls are easy. G5 is peppier compared to G4 worth the cost excellent scooter. One criticism, the control panel is a tad bit dim harder to see in daylight compared to G4. The numbers etc are smaller so harder to see in daylight. Needs to be brighter. Great job keep up the great work.

"Gotrax G5. Very nice scoot"

I did the pre order for the gotrax g5. Advertisement made it look smaller than it is. Got this for my 8 year old son and today I took him to a grass field to do the maiden voyage for him. He loves it. Has more learning to do but he will get it soon. This scooter has plenty of footpad room for both adult feet. Comfortable bar height for adults and feels really nice in general. It's not sloppy and twitchy. Has some pep to it. The 10 inch pneumatic tires are nice around 28 to 30psi.
Great bang for the buck. It's worth the price in my opinion. I'm a avid electric rider with onewheels electric unicycles and a e bike. I put 1,000s of miles on a year. This will see some miles with my son and I too might take a few trips to town and work.
Only thing I don't like is the auto cruise control. It will cause problems if someone freaks out and it ghost into someone or something. I wish gotrax would have a menu option to completely get rid of cruise control for safety reasons. Other than that this scoot is nice, ergonomic, simple and doesn't feel like sloppy trash.

If you are thinking of getting a gxl then spend a little more and get a much nicer machine

Gotrax electric scooters are great! I bought three of their electric scooters and boys enjoy riding them. It takes no time to charge and the charge lasts a long time. The company is easy to work with and the scooter was shipped within a day of the order.

"GoTrax Traveler Arrived Non-Operational"

My GoTrax Traveler arrived non-operational. Put the whole bike together, charged it, and it never powered up. The bike had numerous 'Quality Control Checked/Passed' stickers, but the forks were put on backwards which makes me think it came from the factory nonoperational, because if they didn't even check that the forks were put on right, what else wasn't checked? It's a shame because I have bought a couple other GoTrax products and they were great. Still awaiting a response from GoTrax but I am extremely disappointed. Still awaiting a reply from GoTrax customer support and hoping there is a solution where I don't have to box the Traveler back up, send it back, and wait 3 weeks to put together another bike that may or may not work.

1 star may seem harsh but spending that kind of money for bike put together incorrectly from the factory, that arrives with dead electronics is just unacceptable.I will gladly write a new review if GoTrax makes this right, but until then it's one star.
