"The Senatobia Mississippi branch."

The Senatobia Mississippi branch has the worst customer service of any bank I have ever done business with. It took over 30 minutes to deposit a check into my account. All I was doing was making a deposit and not trying to get any money from it. I mentioned I might just have to change banks and the teller basically said go ahead. If the employees don’t care if I keep my account with them then why should I care. Very tempted to close my account. The manger was off today which is another problem. Nobody in charge. Never enough employees in this branch and they always have a bad attitude.

Today, March 27th I found out the name of the employee that was so rude. She sent a letter about the check that was deposited. I am not going to post her name here but will be reporting her directly to Woodforest. The letter said that the check was being held until April 3rd which I already knew about because of the large amount. But the reason given in the letter was not about the amount, The letter stated “We believe a check you deposited will not be paid for the following reasons: We have confidential information that indicated the check may not be paid.” This check was on a local attorney’s escrow account. I even explained what the check was for. In order to put that as a reason means the teller thought the check was fraudulent and she is accusing me of fraud. This is not the first time I have had problems with customer service at this bank but it is the first time I made a complaint. Not only this employee but other employees at this branch have been rude to me even the branch manager. They make you feel like a criminal when you deposit a check or it is an inconvenience for them to wait on you. When the check in question clears and it will clear, the money will be withdrawn and taken to another bank. I could have provided the paperwork from the attorney that the the check was good and not fraudulent.

"The most useless bank ever"

The most useless bank ever! When you close your account, make sure they closed it, they'll come back after months that you owe them whatever fee they are charging. They are scammers

"I deposited a check in my business…"

I deposited a check in my business account for the IRS treasury on February 7th still not cleared and today is the 20th mind you I have another bank that I had for 8 years for my business never have a problem I decided to give Woodforest a try just to have several business accounts but never again I will be getting in touch with my lawyer TOMORROW and will never use Woodforest again my sister told me Woodforest was a bad bank but I tried anyway never AGAIN!!!

"Worst Bank Ever!!!"

I would give this bank ZERO stars if it would still let me write a review in doing so! This is seriously the WORST BANK EVER! They are literally holding A LOT of money and are refusing to release their hold on it. This is absolutely ridiculous! IT IS MONEY THAT IS GREATLY NEEDED AND THEY HAVE NO RIGHT TO KEEP IT! I am going to talk to a lawyer about this matter! Banks should not hold their customer's money hostage!!

"Moved out of state to Colorado"

Moved out of state to Colorado, opened up a new bank account here, was thinking about keeping Wood-forest as a side bank. They told me I had to be face to face for transfer of funds to my new account, when there is no bank in this state. On top of that we had to get a new card, due to my card being hit for fraud. They send the card in the mail and won’t give me a pin, they make me wait 3 days? *uck off. Been with this bank for 7 years. Only thing I could say is *uck off, I’m not being constructive for *hit. Hope y’all’s higher up sees this. Tell the CEO to *uck off as well.

"Banking scam alert"

Update: Woodforest has responded with a boilerplate response to my review. I have not & will not contact them as I have already wasted hours of time and now money dealing with them. They kept $25 of my money and continue to want me to grovel and deal with them to get MY money back. This is definitely theft.

Be aware of a complete lack of customer service from this bank.
We recently moved from another state to Leland, NC. I opened a personal checking account at a local branch on the 28th of October 2022. On Nov. 23, 2022 I received a notification in the mail dated Nov. 17, informing me that something needed to be corrected on my original account form I filled in when the account was opened. I was given 15 days to contact them. I called the bank and was told that this needed to be done in person at the local branch.
A few days later, I went to the local branch and after a wait of almost two (2) hours the branch manager, using a computer, corrected the questionable entry. I was told at that time that it was because I put "retired" in the place for my employer.
My next experience with Woodforest Bank was a week later when again I received a notice via USPS that my account had been closed for noncompliance to a request and that the funds in my account would be refunded by cashiers check.
The check did arrive but it was short $25. A fee I have now been told was because my account was closed before six months required for a new account. The local branch manager has said his hands are tied and that I must work with the corporate office with any complaints.
I have banked with USAA for 40 years and we have always used email, text messages and phone calls to transact our banking business. I have spent too much time and travel dealing with this bank and the complete lack of customer support.
I will write-off the $25 fee they took out of my account and consider it a contribution to the end-of-year bonus for the bank CEO.

"DONT GET AN ACCOUNT HERE!!!!"

My ex girlfriend had my banking information somehow and was using my debit card to buy stuff. I went to the Woodforest here in town told them I would like that account to be closed and a new Account to be opened with a new card. They gave me a new account and card but never did close the old account. They had also given me A new card for the old account. I’ve never even used the old account Since then and I keep getting charges on the account. Well eventually that account did end up getting closed and today I got paid and the greedy Woodforest crooks took The money that I need to pay my bills and feed my family and offset it to the closed account that had a balance of $0.00. I am beyond pissed and as soon as I can get to a different bank I will be opening a New account and closing Woodforest. This is a Mickey Mouse bank with the worst customer service I have personally ever seen. If I were you I wouldn’t even let the thought of opening an account here cross your mind

"very bad bank …"

very bad bank this was my bank for 10 plus years. well the final act was when i went in had them turn off one debit card and issue me another. several months later i noticed money being taken ouT I go in and find out it was never turned off. said the girl who did it was already fired.....im out over $500 but Two weeks later i see her still working. the bank manager was the lady who told me this..BIG FAT LIARS woodriver illinois branch
