"Inconvenient Banking Services"
They don't give access on their app to services that most banks do. Like they do not allow money transfers. Even when calling the bank they don't allow money transfers. They also do not allow you to order a replacement debit card over the app like most banks do. They expect you to go into the location to do a money transfer. If you happen to need access to your money to put into another account and are not near a location you are screwed.
My debit card is gone and I don't have time to wait for another one to come into the mail and now there is no other option to access my funds. Most banks have better options. The worst part is they may take my funds because they require a minimum of $100 balance and I just need the funds I have in there now and can deposit at least $100 next payday.

"Changed POS since May 2022 (it’s now…"
Changed POS since May 2022 (it’s now Sept) and have called EVERY month to cancel and stop monthly charges without success. Was told today, by a supervisor, after escalating the call, that there are no records of my calls except an august one and that all charges are legit ($164 each month) even though no services were provided and I called multiple times (hours on hold and w customer service). Absolutely unacceptable, upsetting and absurd. Terrible customer service and worse yet, untrustworthy. Bad bad business.

Without any warning, they deactivated my checking account and levied several fees against it, draining it to zero. When I confronted them about it, the manager refused to refund my money.

"I had my purse stolen with a bank…"
I had my purse stolen with a bank statement in my purse ,and so someone the very same day made online purchases. I went to the branch where I live and explained what had happened .The employee said they couldn't do anything for me because the charges were still pending....ok ! I was given a new debit card for which 15 dollars was taken out of my already negative account. Today I wake up to more online purchases made with my bank account. I spoke to the branch manager who told me that the overdraft option was taken off ...So Why was someone allowed to continue to make purchase with my account that was already overdrawn ??? Do NOT bank with Woodforrest !!!!

"Horrible bank"
Horrible bank! Go somewhere else! Terrible customer service and they allow multiple unauthorized transactions to be taken from your account and then their "investigation" takes weeks, if not months to come to the final conclusion that they will not reimburse you the money they allowed to be stolen from your account. Bank with anyone else. Save yourself the headache.

"Extremely bad banking service."
I opened a checking account early May 2022 with a deposit transfer from another bank. Checks were ordered at the time of opening and by mid June I still had not received the checks. So I stopped in to the branch to find out why. The lady researched and couldn't figure out the reason, so she re-ordered. On July 5 the bank sent me a notice stating they're closing my account. No explanation given. An account barely two months old. I called and asked if they can transfer my funds back to my original bank. No. I have to go into the branch and sign. I go in a few days later, and the teller discovered the account was already closed and was told the check was mailed July 23. August 3, still no check, I checked on the check's whereabouts. I was given a USPS tracking number that showed 'In transit'. Hmm!! All I want is my money back, in my hand ASAP. I would never ever do business with Woodforest Bank again nor would I ever recommend them to anyone.

"Not what it used to be"
I've been doing business with this bank - same branch - for 12 years, and things have really gone downhill. There have been more than half a dozen branch managers (they usually stay about 18 months), and even tellers who've been there for years are displaying an "I don't give a damn" attitude to their customers. The local branch is no longer opening on time, they're not answering the phones and their new stock phrase is "do that yourself online." They simply don't care anymore.
I am currently looking for a new bank.
UPDATE: 6 November 2024, 3 years later. I did, in fact, find another bank, and transferred most of my savings over to them. But I kept my checking account and a small savings balance with Woodforest - mostly because I remember how good the bank was 15 years ago when I opened these accounts, and I was hoping things would improve. No such luck. Things are actually getting worse - and I didn't think that was possible.
My debit card gets frozen three or four times a year because Woodforest's idiotic algorithms don't like certain transactions: a $12 online purchase because I made it on New Year's Day, a charitable donation to an organization in New Zealand that I donate to regularly (and yes, they freeze my card every time), a small purchase from a company in Canada, a purchase from eBay because it was $1 (I still don't know why that was so annoying to them), and that's just the last 12 months. It's almost as if they're trying to drive me away...
I am now beginning the process of closing out my remaining accounts and transferring them over to my new bank. As I reread my previous review, I can see I should have done this three years ago.

8779687962 is the Worst. If you have a question and wants to DISPUTE something they will AUTOMATICALLY CUT YOUR CARD OFF and not tell the CUSTOMER til your paying for somthg. WHO ASKED THEM TO DO THIS & WHY? Its like their looking for WAYS, TO CHARGE THE CUSTOMERS FOR A NEW CARD PLUS THE HELL OF US, contacting ALL out AUTO PAY and ONLINE apps to change the Credit CARD. Not OKAY AT ALL. If it wasn't for the wonderful CS guys inside walmart of our WF banks on 64w, We would leave this bank. New cards is a lot of work changing. Freeze the card, don't STOP the card and make sure its okay b4 doing over a $9.56 dispute. Sickrns me with all this xtra stress.

Woodforest bank has the worst service I have ever seen in all my years of dealing with banks.
Customer phone support is just so terrible put on hold for more then a hour from there US base customer service.
Teller at their Kernersville NC 27284 Brank took money from my account and gave it to someone else using my account number, This is fraud, and when trying to get it fixed thru phone no one cared and I was on hold for over 1 hour. I had to drive to the branch over 15 minutes away to have it fixed. Using my gas which we know is very high. Different teller at the bank did help me and they put the money back in my account that IMO that was taken from me with very poor teller service!!! Beware of trusting this Bank!!
