"Very satisfied with my time with Woodforest!2"

I'm in Texas and I've been with Woodforest for a lil over 5 years. I love it! I made bad decisions with finances when I was young and went to Woodforest hoping they'd accept me. Of course they did and I've had ZERO problems problems. No hidden fees, easy to use app, great personal service. This isn't a second chance bank that looks down at you for being there, this is a second chance bank that runs just like a big name bank and at the same time teaches you ways to be more efficient with your funds.

"Employees need to be trained I go into…"

Employees need to be trained I go into the center (1960/Eldridge) they are so opt to tell you about online banking but fail to help you set up infi needed to access the app. This has caused me to have 2 NSF funds cause I thought I could access the mobile app. Nope,I have none. They are quick to recoup money but half ass on service. LORD! Just HORRIBLE SERVICE! INSIDE REPS/CUSTOMER SERVICE

"Unless you have money to throw away"

Unless you have money to throw away, I would not advise you to bank with Woodforest.
I had both accounts with them. Although I achieved and maintained the minimum balance, they kept charging a monthly fee to my savings. They would also manipulate data, to make a reason to charge me NSF/return fees. When I received my 2nd stimulus check, they would only allow me to withdraw $500 of MY OWN MONEY. Also, when I lost my drivers license, I went in with my old one, my temporary new one, and my veterans ID. They still refused to allow me to withdraw from my account. I did not have a debit card for that account due to their $15 fee. Today I used my card to buy gas and make some copies. Hours later, I went to the Dollar General, where my card was declined for a $9.90 purchase. Although I have over $500 in my account, Woodforest was suddenly declining my transactions. Several hours later, they sent me an email that someone attempted to use my card at a totally different gas station, for the amount of $0.00. What?? Since they are not available (by phone or in person) on Sundays, I will have to wait a couple of days to speak with someone and access my money. Although my debit card had not left my sight, they cancelled it, and said I would have to pay $15 to get a new one. I am sure that this is just another one of their scams to induce more fees, or retaliation for me closing the savings yesterday; but I will be closing the checking as well (although they will charge me a $25 fee.)

I have never had a problem with them had them sinc 2013 and they're always prompt in responding to me.. so not sure why others have problems..

"They delight in miserable service…"

For many YEARS tellerS unable to provide endorsed copy of Cashier's Check because they are unskilled. April 2021, teller REFUSED to provide Cashier's Check for my rent because I had no WRITTEN PROOF of my Zip Code. Woodforest National Bank closed my account and sent a Cashier's Check for the balance of my account via U. S. Postal Service using the ZIP CODE IN THEIR OWN FILE. The teller refused to negotiate the Woodforest National Bank's own Cashier's Check with the memo: closing account xx____. Their OWN Cashier's Check! As I left the bank, the teller said "you're disgusting" not once, but twice. Now, the third stimulus was scheduled for direct deposit on MARCH 31 but it is nowhere to be found! IRS has to trace which takes 90 days. Be CAREFUL with this bank; they seem to delight in this behavior.
I am elderly and very low income. I would rate this bank NEGATIVE 10.

"Worse bank I have ever seen it doesn't matter how far up the latter you go total and confidence"

This is the worst bank they let somebody walk in pretend to be you wipe out your account when they know that you have been put in the hospital and they've been notified but yet they let someone come in and take every dime you've got and then throw it back in your lap and make it your problem when the mistake is Theirs I wouldn't advise anyone to use this bank it is the worst bank I have ever Seen Absolutely no help total incompetence

This is the worst bank on this planet . Terrible customer service , holds your money/deposit much longer than necessary, you can’t get a hold of anyone to work out problems.steer clear of this terrible lousy bank!

"THE MOST UNRELIABLE BANK!!!"

The most unreliable contact center ever. No one seems to have the correct information on standard operating procedures for ordering new debit cards.

I called them because I was still unable to order a new debit card online after waiting 48hrs after updating my address. The phone rep stated she was able to do it for me and that it would arrive in 10 business days.

Ten days pass and still no card. This time I speak to another rep and he tells me no, the debit card request was rejected. WTH. I am already frustrated by now, b/c I may have to wait ANOTHER 10 days to get a card. I ask if he could just do it for me over the phone. NOPE. Apparently, my new address would need to be on file for atleast 30 days to do that. By now, I am livid and fed up with this so-called bank.

So I go back online and order ANOTHER card. The message says it'll arrive in 10 business days. We shall see. At this point, I am done with Woodforest. I am leaving like I should have a long time ago.

"Stay away from this bank!!"

Stay away from this bank!!! They make their money by charging illigal overdraft fees whenever they want!! And they get away with it by manipulating the times of various charges and deposits to make it look like you didn't have enough funds to cover things!!!
