"Takes money despite removing payment method"

Like others, this company has taken money fraudulently for domain renewals that had auto-renew turned off & payment details removed from the portal.

"I have a domain account and recently I…"

I have a domain account and recently I had been trying to get the billing department to cancel my domain account because I had closed my company and de-registered the name and there the corporate domain is no longer required. For two weeks the billing department had yet to respond to my request and in the meantime I have been debited for annual renewal fees.

"A Terrible Experience"

I had 2 domains with them; one in Malaysia, one in Singapore. Luckily, the Singapore domain had a code for transfer. I chose a new registrar and transferred it easily.

My Malaysia domain needed their assistance to transfer. I asked them on 7th May. I got the usual nice e-mail from customer support. I waited but no transfer. E-mails moved back and forth.

I get to 1st July and e-mail them for, I think, the 5th time. The reply was, ‘your domain has dropped and is now available for registration.’

My domain was luckily not linked to a business. They didn’t care if it was. I had to pay again to regain my domain. Luckily it was available. Imagine if that domain was vital for my livelihood!

I used them when they were IP Mirror and had no issues.

I would never trust them again.

"Blackmail messages started at time of speednames outage in early December."

I agree with all of the negative commentary below. I have two things to add. By some bizarre twist of fate, my speednames e-mail account "spontaneously reactivated" perhaps two weeks ago, in late March. No idea why. I had an inbox of over 2000 messages to sort through, since early December when I stopped receiving or being able to send any e-mails at all.

However, I found a huge my spam folder -- in it was a a clear scam that affected only my speednames e-mail account -- a backlog of messages from someone (Chinese, Russian? in any case someone with a poor grasp of English -- that he had hacked into my speednames e-mail account, had access to all my password and accounts, and claimed I was watching "adult entertainment" (no specifics were mentioned as to what my "perversion", as he called it, so it looked like a fishing expedition). He claimed had videos of me "enjoying myself". He threated to send these videos to all my contacts if I didn't pay around $900 in bitcoin. I have no camera on my PC and I don't watch porn, The fact that, upon the reappearance of my speednames account in March, there were about 100 such messages, and he still hasn't released this "daming videos" to all my contacts, suggests this is a standard attempt to scare people. I will say, however, that in addition to this supposed hacker, who sends me e-mails using my speedsname e-mail address, and has issued 48 hour ultimatums every few days and nothing has happened, speednames is the only e-mail service -- in addition to him, speednames is my only e-mail account where I continually get very obvious dangerous spam mail from e-mail contacts I haven't been in touch with for five years.

The sad news is that just as speednames has honoured no requests, responded to no complaints, is unreachable by e-mail or phone, it will take no action in this case either. These e-mails started PRECISELY after I lost access to my speednames account in the beginning of December. This particular "porn threat" e-mails started only after speednames went down. Of course I didn't see them until the account came back up recently.

I am wondering whether anyone is in the same situation.

I think we all know that Speednames will disappear. The question, as many people have raised, is how much of our information they have hacked.

"Domain transferred out but they still keep charging fee"

Although my domain has been transferred to another registrar last year but they still keep charging me fee for the fake renewal.

There is no way for me to remove my card and get the refund. There is no direct helpline to their Billing matter. Customers are required to send email but you will never get a reply.

I have sent 5 emails regarding my case over the last 2 months but there is no reply at all. Totally disappointed.
