I paid for 7 day rental at Tromso in December. Got the deal on Vehiclerent.com and paid for the relax package thinking I can really 'relax'.
Unfortunately due to heavy snow, the front bumper suffered a crack, probably due to an ice or rock covered in snow. I was given the impression at the counter of Europcar that they will contact Vehiclerent for payment if there is any damage charges since I already have the relax package. I was also given back my deposit and an invoice with no damage charge after 1 week. So I thought that was the end of it.
However, 1 and half months later Europcar suddenly charged me 9500NOK for damage and gave me a delayed invoice for just the damage. This caused a major issue as Vehiclerent wants all claims to submitted within 28 days of rental finish (while other insurance companies start counting days after claim payment by client). So now I am unable to claim my money back from Vehiclerent. Vehiclerent says that I should have reported damage anyway even if there was no charge yet. This is absolutely rubbish since that was never mentioned anywhere in the contact. This is just pure scam (not sure if the car agency Europcar is involved in this whole practice). But the point is DO NOT USE VEHICLERENT and IF YOU MUST, DO NOT BUY SUPER EXCESS REFUND. This clearly exemplifies their attitude and approach to the claims. I have found better reviews of other third party car rental insurances such Insurance4carhire etc.
Reply to Vehiclerent's reply: Your reply exemplifies what all customers of your company should expect - excuses. What is defined as significant damage or minor damage is not mentioned in the contract and neither is there any mention of pre-emptive reporting. The only provision which you are exploiting here is the time period limitation. Considering that it is unintuitive since it begins at the end of the rental and not from the time of payment of damage (ie. an unusual practice in the industry/insurance industry), it is not a far stretch to believe that your practice is simply predatory. No considerations were made to take into account that the time period also included Christmas and New Years' holidays and the delay was the fault of the agency and not the customer. Your priority clearly lies in every penny possible and not in the interest of the customer or providing the protection promised in the product; I do hope that more people will be aware before making any rental or purchase any package from this company.

Ho prenotato dal 13/08 al 22/08 con copertura assicurativa totale.
Purtroppo essendo un’assicurazione online e non con il noleggiatore al momento del deposito auto il noleggio si è divertito ad aggiungere più danni possibili. Ho fatto richiesta del rimborso di parte dei danni e mi hanno accettato il 13/09 con un rimborso di 500€. Dopo 90 giorni non ho ricevuto ancora nessun rimborso. Ora siamo a quasi cinque mesi e l’unica risposta dopo le mie tante mail di sollecitazione è una scusa automatica che mandano a tutti. A questo punto questa recensione ve la siete meritata. Dove è il rimborso dovuto?

Passata una settimana dalla conferma di vehicle rent non ho ricevuto ancora nessuna conferma dalla vostra contabilità. Mi prendete in giro?
