Told at check in I wouldn’t be put in a middle seat and low and behold I got on the plane and it’s a middle seat ☹️ looking forward to my seeing 15 hour hell flight and straight to work on the other end 😫

"After waiting over 50 working days for…"

After waiting over 50 working days for their so-called refund they call me to provide them with banking details so they can transfer refund. After emailing the details waiting two weeks and still nothing… would not trust them in the air either if that’s how they treat their customers in general.

"never again!"

Shocking experience with Etihad. On outbound I purchased x 4 the economy extra leg room bulkhead seats at an additional total cost of £348.80 purely to allow my son extra leg room for a broken big toe so he could keep his leg stretched out, not only to have cabin crew walk on his broken foot but the passengers as well using this as a walkway through to the opposite aisle. No assistance or aplogy was offered or to help him in any way. To add to measure of this disappointing outbound flight, it gets worse on the return inbound! I booked 4 x extra legroom seats for total £256 for row 19 and was not emailed or notified of the aircraft change but wasnt assigned the extra leg room seats I purchased and without any explanation or notification at check in we were issued boarding passed for row 44, with no leg room for my sons injury and told to accept it or take the next flight! We were told at the boarding gate that this seat charge was pending and was told that Etihad would not take the funds for seats we never sat in, but 2 days having arrived home they have taken the funds for the seats I never actually sat in. Followed by spending my whole afternoon on the phone to Etihad customer services to get nowhwere apart from to leave feedback about my experience! Never again.

On 1st March I travelled through Etihad airways from London to Bengaluru. The staff did not allow my cabin luggage stating that it was big and made me pay £190. Same bag was allowed to another passenger travelling and were not even charged for it when enquired.

"Worst customer service ever received from any supplier in 50 years"

We booked a return flight to Thailand in September 23 but naively did not check the confirmation detail. Then in October we checked the communication from Etihad and discovered instead of a 2.55 hr stop over in Abu Dhabi (which we booked) they had put us on flight with a 14 hour stop over. Unfortunately my wife has MS and I'm 70 so that was not acceptable, practical or suitable . So I started to try and plead my case to no avail !! I rang their HO , customer services and booking department 29 times , e mailed 11 times and nothing happened and NO replies . I was ignored treated like a number and like garbage ,even though id paid £2000 for the flights. When I did get to speak to someone and they appeared sympathetic they NEVER kept their promise to remedy my issue or reply the following day as they promised . They were disgusting people who lied and had no integrity or decency. So DONT book with Etihad although they are marginally cheaper its false economy plus you can't cancel or change the flight EVER under ANY circumstance. I even contacted senior Directors but they are as bad NO REPLY or acknowledgment of their customers problems which they had created !!!
MY ADVICE IS NEVER TRAVEL WITH ETIHAD -BIG MISTAKE!

"Poor customer service"

For the first time today, nearly 10 weeks after I tried to cancel my travel insurance purchased at the tome of booking, I finally received a call today! Unfortunately the service both from GIG Insurance as well as Etihad has once again been exceptionally poor and frankly dishonest and I would caution anyone from using your services in the future.

"No cancellation policy for serious illness"

My partner and I have booked flights costing 1700EUR. I have just been diagnosed with a very serious illness and we will not be able to travel. We need to cancel the flight (not change the flight due to the illness). The Etihad customer service have said they will not refund the fare. We are due to fly in 7 weeks time.
Extremely disappointed with what is supposed to be a very reputable airline. From this experience, I know that even a lowcost airline will give me a refund.

"Shocking Service"

Had this misfortune of having this flight company to Thailand at Christmas. Being a solo traveller, I only use companies that are recommended. The flight centre recommended this company and I choose them. I went to check in and online check in informed me I required a visa and it would not let me move on. (this is 24hrs before the flight). Phone the flight centre, who was on it straight away, they also couldnt get passed the Visa issue). They checked with Etihad who informed them I didnt require one (which I and the flight centre knew) and to arrive an additional hour before I should, so 4 hours not 3 hours to sort out at Heathrow. Heathrow, took neon 45mins for the checkin staff to overide the system and book me in. Arrived at Abu Dhabi, through secrutiy to find I had no seat allocated. Back through security to Ehihad customer services they sorted seat, back through security to be called for boarding plane. Talk about flustered. Way home. Went to check in. I was put on "standby list" Whats that? Transpires I had no seat and couldnt check in. On phone to flight centre, they couldnt check me in either. Back on phone to Etihad. 6hrs later text messages from flight centre to me with cpies of texts and emails to show when I check in. Another error on their booking system. I did have a seat and again, be there an hour eariler to sort out. Again at check in 4 people including a supervisor trying to sort out my ticket (they also had my name on standby). After another neon 45mins I finally was checked in. Extremely poor experience both ways from Etihad which spoil the last few days of my holday and had me very stressed out. My email response took them 4 months to respond with a *We are sorry to learn of your experience with us especially being a solo passenger. Thank you for your email we can learn from it!* That was it. No offer of part refund nothing. Im off to Dubai, Singapore and Bali in May and 5 flights and not one of the Etiha. I paid extra to fly with Emirates. Never again, shocking service all directions.
