"The dinners picked for Italy were…"

The dinners picked for Italy were mundane at best. The hotel in Naples was absolutely beyond horrible!! It was dirty and loud with questionable people hanging around the doorway when you entered. The personnel in the hotel in Rome were rude and very unaccommodating.

Our tour guide, Patrick, was phenomenal. We only encountered one hiccup on the whole trip and we were able to resolve it in no time and still have a blast.

I loved the destinations--not the moving from hotel to hotel every night, but the last few days we enjoyed being on the ship. My fellow travelers were all amazing people, which made the trip memorable.

In some cases, we didn't have time to see a city because of long walks at other sites. We literally missed all but 1/2 hour in Sorrento!!

Guide was good and caring, but not top notch!

With the pandemic you would think you would be more flexible with transferring trips but you weren’t. It took awhile before we were able to reach with our advisor and she was not helpful. We had to overpay or lose our $. I will never use your company again.

Excellently organized sampler of Hawaii and Australia, from the tour guides to the coaches to the hotels. A great experience overall and would gladly travel with them again.

Fantastic experience! 16 days of touring some of the most historical and beautiful cities on earth. There were a lot of moving pieces for Explorica to coordinate between tours, travel, hotel stays, excursions for ~60 people; and things went very smoothly. Alba was an A+ guide!

"Needs Tweaking …"

The trip was very fun and our tour guide was great. However, food for thought. Upon arrival at our first hotel, we should have had at least an hour if not 2 to shower and change and elevate legs. We had 15 and then we’re off and running, literally. My legs and feet were so swollen from the 9 hour plane ride. Then we walked 6 or more miles. My husband is a physician and told told me to get off my feet immediately and elevate them. I left the museum we were in and sat on their lawn with my legs up for 20 min. This has never happened to me before but blood clots from long flights are very real.
That museum in Madrid had some very creepy paintings and honestly everyone would rather have had more time to pick a descent restaurant to have lunch and just shop.
The castle was way cooler. The cathedrals are all beautiful but again you are packing in too many cities and cathedrals. No one can remember which cathedrals/mosques were in which towns. Also, we were told we were on our own for lunch. But then told we only had 20 minutes and we’re dropped off on a corner and told to find a place and be back on the bus because in 20 to rush off to another cathedral . You could not find a place to eat and get waited on in 20 minutes. Most of us didn’t have time to finish our food. The food that was included for dinner was all bad. And I know Spain has great food. Only Malaga had good food at the hotel and it was the nicest hotel and city, and we stayed their the least amount of time. While Portugal was fun we all could’ve lived without a 9 hour bus drive just to stay a day and a half. Plus our bus changed and it was so uncomfortable. We could’ve stayed that extra day and a half in Malaga and enjoyed the beach and the resort like hotel we stayed at. It had the largest swimming pool I’ve ever seen which no one got to use. I will say the food in Portugal was delicious even our included dinner. It was the first meal we had that was actually served hot, and had tons of flavor, and actual meat.
Then of course Covid hit the group our last day and by the the next week everyone had it. Two girls went to the hospital in Portugal. And then because of the strike in France we couldn’t get off the tarmac in Portugal which made us miss our connection. So 5 extra hours in France airport, two extra flights to get home and no luggage for 10 days for anyone in the group.
Now all that being said I had fun but definitely cut some stuff out. There is no reason to rush rush rush and not be able to enjoy what you are seeing because you are constantly told to hurry and get on the bus…
