My name came in automatically. Please understand as you read onward that I am not glad to have tried it regarding my latest experience with Personal Comfort.

Personal Comfort shows a top-zipped product when you watch the videos. These are the air beds most of us who had such beds used and liked the design of - user serviceable and making sense visibly to open it and service it with new parts or disassembly if desired. When our new Personal Comfort bed shows up we unpackaged it laid it out on the bed, plugged it in and got it pumping. However, it unrolls and inflates with the zipper underneath so you never know what's inside of it. As a queen with two seperate air bladders, they still affect each other. The wireless remote is hard to handle and when you use to inflate it starts to deflate. When the remote is used to deflate it starts to inflate sometimes. Frankly the intelligence on the pump has no idea up, down, or sideways in regard to pressure. So I installed the application on my phone and it worked for a while but now does not. So I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software and unplugged and re-plugged the pump in and still can't get control over the bed and it's pressure. The bed rails are mostly squishy and don't show a retained form as other "soft sided" air beds do. Our bed is already bowing outward in the center of both sides. I do believe the old style of bed would not have done that, but we got the "new style" because that is what Personal Comfort now sells.

Yes, we did talk about sending it back in the return period, but paying for shipping and packing a bed the "popped out" and inflated seemed too daunting. Additionally they have a policy of, "Some models may require a restocking fee of $149 or 25% depending on the model and if there was any customization". We had no customization but paying anything to "get out" of a bed we were not happy with seemed like a rip off. So why did we not take the hit and pay something to get the return and just get out of the bed? Because while the old Comfortaire bed needed a new mattress bladder and inner foam, we had kept it and knew what it was like when it was right. I opt to put my energies and money into our old bed from a company that has long gone out of business and we'll buy replacement parts from other sources and control our outcome. This new bed will soon be relegated to ...... dunno; dump, store it in the attic?

Yes, the sales rep was good, but it took at least a month for our queen bed to arrive. And, what about the product, people? I have had Select Comfort, Comfortaire, and now Personal Comfort. I was excited by Personal Comfort's design as showed in the video demo on youtube with the zippered top and side rails enclosed in cloth retainer 'sheets'. That looked superior but it is not what we got. They have changed and it isn't superior. We have a twin of the old style from Personal Comfort and that is an entirely different mattress and perfect as it is the old design.
