"Repeated hidden charges and stressful experiences – beware"
I’ve had multiple stressful experiences with DHL, and unfortunately, it’s reached the point where I feel I need to warn others.
Most recently, I booked a shipment to Portugal over the phone and was quoted £110. Just before paying, I mentioned that I had a business account, and the agent said it would be easier to charge it through that — with no mention that the price would change. Days later, I was shocked to see I’d been charged £370.
This has happened to me before with DHL — being quoted one price and then billed something significantly higher due to hidden surcharges or account-specific rates. Each time, it becomes a long, drawn-out process to dispute the charges. In this case, I had to go back and find the exact date and time of the call, then chase multiple departments just to be heard. It took weeks of stress, emails, and dispute submissions to finally get the credit issued.
While I appreciate that one of their agents (Leah) eventually helped resolve it, it should never have reached that point. I’ve now asked for my business account to be closed, as it ironically seems to give me worse rates and more complications.
If you’re considering using DHL, make sure everything is confirmed in writing and be very careful if you have a business account. These kinds of issues shouldn’t be recurring — but sadly, in my case, they have been.
This review is being written on the 17th of April, where the case has just been resolved this morning. I sent my parcel at the start of February.

"Useless morons"
So its raining. DHL can't deliver when they say they can, so they deliver the following day. The moron they hire to deliver decides to leave the parcel outside in the rain. Why? Because HE IS A MORON. Why do DHL employ him, because they are a steaming pile of crap. They really are utter rubbish. How can it be that they run a successful business when they are such idiots.

Paid for express international delivery – package took 3 weeks and arrived looking like it survived a war. Their "tracking" was fiction, and customer service just shrugged. Never again.

I to nie ze ja zamawiam tą firme ja poprostu robie zakupy a firma która sprzedaje mi produkt wysyła przez nich jeżeli mam tylko możliwość to biorę przesyłkę nawet droższa byle nie ta firma zawsze problem jak nie z doręczeniem bo rzekomo nikogo nie było a oczywiście byłem cały dzień w domu to dwa przesyłka ma być dostarczona 16stego a oni już 15 mi piszą że będzie problem z dostarczeniem no ludzie błagam zamknijcie ten oddział...

"Late deliveries and unreliable communication"
Parcel did not arrive on date due to be delivered. No communication from DHL to state that it would not arrive on time. I made a point of being at home all day for the delivery and it was only when I contacted customer support late in the evening that I was told it would not be delivered on that day. An unreliable delivery company.

The employee filled out the customs form without asking anything and put the wrong information. This meant I had to wrongly pay 100 euros at the customs. It was the agent's mistake but they didn't take accountability

Per l'ennesima volta il pacco risulta consegnato ma in realtà non è mai stato ricevuto. Impossibile rintracciare il corriere, omertà assoluta e firme false sui moduli di consegna. Il peggior corriere dai tempi dell'invenzione della ruota.
