"What have they done to the Galway boot?…"
I am on my third pair of Dubarry Galway boots having worn them since shortly after they came on the market..I bought this pair at the end of last summer and similar to another recent review, they do not seem to be the same boot underfoot. The foot capsule is shallow and difficult to get on around the turn, but the main thing is the comfort level, the insole (or whatever it is) is rock hard with little or no softness under foot. I wear them as they’re light weight and waterproof as always, but had already decided they would be my last pair. I feel there has been corners cut in the quality of the boot which is a dreadful pity for such an iconic brand!

Went to the relatively new Dubarry shop in Cheltenham which recently moved from Montpellier to The Promenade x lovely assistant who said the boots I required were out of stock in a size 7 but could
Order them in for me. I gave her my email address and spelt it out as I have an unusual name and she said she would
Email when they were in the shop. A few weeks went by and I phoned the shop direct on numerous occasions, no voicemail facility and no one ever answered. Hence this my partner rang the Head Office in Galway to inform them no one has got in touch and or is the phone out of order at the Cheltenham branch?
He passed on his phone number so he could be contacted . We have heard nothing for 2 weeks ! 2 contact details but with no avail ! Very disappointed with an establishment of this Calibre especially when you are willing to spend close to £400 on boots !!!

Dubarry have lost my custom!
I bought a pair of Dubarry Galway boots over 10 years ago and they’ve been the most comfortable and best boots I’ve ever owned.
However they were looking a little tired after so long and my husband treated me to a new pair at Christmas (December 2020)
I have only worn them twice and to say I’m disappointed is an understatement and I will never recommend or ever buy them again.
In my old boots the lining and particularly the insole was soft and felt insulated, and I could walk for miles.
On both occasions wearing my new ones after walking just 3-4 miles the soles of my feet were in agony and a burning sensation only experienced when wearing footwear lacking in a quality insole. Leaving me in severe discomfort for a couple of days afterwards.
The insoles ,on closer examination underneath the ball of the foot area are so hard and lack any real padding.
My £29 wellies are more comfortable than these !!!!
Update- To Dubarry
My complaint was regarding the quality standard of a hard insole. Your reply on trust pilot said I should have contacted you first. Unless you are going to completely change all the manufacturing materials of the insole I cannot see how you could resolve this. It is not about personal fit or a fault. It is about inferior quality in a very expensive boot!!
The direct email from you regarding this is an auto generated one which states you are very busy with a lot of customer requests/ complaints and there’s a delay in responding to my particular complaint.
Unbelievably I’ve just received a further email from customer service asking me to rate your response/ resolution. The update link on this does not work, so another fail by Dubarry.
NOT GOOD ENOUGH! And I stand by my original review that I will never recommend Dubarry or use you again !

"I sent my deck shoes back to the…"
I sent my deck shoes back to the Dubarry factory to have their shape restored and having gotten them back I am delighted with them.
The shape has been completely restored and I’m sure this was no easy task as they had become so misshapen!!!
The icing on the cake was that it was completed free of charge, I would have been more than happy to pay for this service considering the excellent result!!
First class customer service all round from emailing to make enquires, the info and directions I was giving to the turn around time on the repair, it was all seamless.
I was delighted that such a repair service was available as although my shoes are very many years old the leather and soles are still in perfect condition and it was through my own carelessness that they lost their shape but now they are good as new!!!

In line with all the other reports. You spend twice the price of other boots and expect them to last but they just fall apart. Customer service hopeless and dont accept any responsibility.

I bought the Wexford boot a few years ago now and walk up to 10 miles 5 days a week as a dog walker 🐾 My boots have always been completely waterproof and incredibly comfortable. ❤️
I would highly recommend these boots although they are expensive they have preformed well so far and I can't see any reason they shouldn't last me a few years more.
*** I must add that I turned my ankle this week on wet cobblestones. The support from these boots saved me from injury, which prompted my review *** Thankyou Dubarry x

"Good looking but bad glue"
I bought a pair of Dubarry barely 2 years ago. I used them just a couple of times in the past 2 years. They still look like new except for the sole. The sole started to fell off and I contacted dubarry via email and the response was to contact another boot repair store in Holland. All good except that they do not pick up the phone. I have many friends that had the same problem with this boots and one have said that his had been replaced. The response I got was very far from that. I decided keep my dubarry and not to buy a pair of Zhik boots (which in my opinion are more comfortable) because I actually like them until they broke and the customer service response was very poor. First pair and last. If you want a pair of sailing boots that take a beat a last long Dubarry is not your product.

"Exceptional and responsive customer service"
I ordered some clothing from Dubarry website in the evening and had a courtesy call from Penny at Dubarry straight away the following morning saying one item was not in stock but offering an alternative and also advising on a pair of boots I wanted to buy for my partner. Exceptional customer service and Penny was extremely professional and courteous. Thank you Dubarry for having such an excellent service.

"Dreadful - simply cant deliver anything on time"
I've ordered three items from Dubarry, none of which have arrived ever or arrived on time. Customer services are full of apologies and excuses but do nothing about it - for a company like this at the top end of retailers, I'd expect much much better. There's no real service here unfortunately which is a real shame. Their products are iconic.. just crappy, crappy service
