"This company commits fraud"

This company commits fraud. They will charge you 60 dollars for a referral and give you no names of doctors, just a fax cover sheet. I had to threaten them with a lawsuit to get my money back. I was told by their nasty customer service rep that the doctor I had the video visit with does this all the time. There are better tele-medicine companies out there. Do waste your money with this one.

"Disappointed and More Stressed"

Atleast for the mental health Talk Therapy side goes, I was very disappointed. I spent close to 45 minutes creating an account and reaching out to specialists to find a Saturday availability but kept getting turned down. Finally I reached out to customer service and was told that there are no Saturday availabilities for a therapist in the foreseeable future. To me that is false marketing to proclaim flexibility when you can't deliver. The whole pro to telehealth is that it's meant to help busy people still get the help they need. If I still have to ask off work, excuse myself from school, etc, then I may as well find somewhere in person.

"Hope you’re not in crisis"

The social worker had a lot of trouble with the audio. For 20 minutes I listened to another line while she tried to turn it off. Then she told me to be patient. The rest of the 45 minute session was spent calling my insurance company to “help” me get answers I had not been able to get at any point on my own. She also failed to get answers; reminding me the entire time that she was going out of her way (which I didn’t ask for). She ended by asking me to give her a good review. I’m glad it was only a minor crisis.

"Incompetent and Frustrating"

I live in Las Vegas, and the healthcare here is super slow. So, if I want to see anyone with any expediency, I need to use an online provider. My insurance company directs me to this website for care.

I scheduled my first two appointments without issue, but scheduling follow-ups is a nightmare.

Firstly, if the appointment is set up through a request to the provider, the appointment confirmation is sent to you with a time in the time zone they are in, which you don't know because they could be anywhere.

Also, if you miss the appointment because the time is unclear, you will be charged $50 for the missed appointment.

Then, if you request a phone appointment, it could switch to a video appointment on you with no warning, so while you are sitting by the phone waiting for a call, come to find out you need to be in the app or on the website, so there is another $50. Why ask your preference if they switch you to something else anyway?

Finally, even if the appointment ISN'T missed, guess what? well, they might just say you missed it anyway and charge you another $50.

Calling in and disputing the charges is not a huge deal, but if you want you money anytime soon, then you are in for a treat. Their refunds, no matter if it is their fault, take 45-90 days to process.

Then, if that makes you upset and you want to talk to a supervisor, they send you to a queue that puts you on hold for 10 minutes only to then tell you to leave a message and they will call you back.

I am still not sure how long that takes, as I have not yet gotten a call back.

I am filing a claim with my bank.

"BAD IMAGE FOR BCBS TO BE LINKED WITH MDLIVE"

It’s unfortunate this site is actually linked with our BCBS website to do our virtual visits. I created an account and during the process it says we authorize to pull $1 from account for copay. However, if insurance can’t be verified the full amount would be charged. I received an email stating my insurance needs updating after the visit. I called back after the second email sent. This was about two weeks after. The caller stated my insurance is verified and have “nothing to worry about and can disregard”. I naively believed her as I received one more email after that conversation from company. After review of my account, the full charge of $82 was debited from my acct. My copay portion is $35. I again called them back and they have the “unconcerned” and “I don’t care” attitude. She couldn’t give me an explanation as to why if she shows my insurance is verified. All she could do, is request a refund and that could take up to 45 days. That was not a guarantee a refund would be processed. The terrible part is what if they withdrew the funds in error from someone who doesn’t have that extra funds in their account. That would cause overdraft fees with no accountability on their end. Side note, I didn’t 100% believe the “don’t worry about it” statement. I took the extra step to cancel my debit card to avoid an unnecessary withdraw. Well, I learned something new from my bank regarding that. By MDLIVE requesting to pull the $1, it will still allow them to withdraw as the date of the authorization is prior to canceling my debit card. I thought I was one step ahead of them and BOOM, they got me. Will never use them again. I hope BCBS will see this review. I’d like them to know, I would rather go to the ER or Urgent Care that have to deal with this type of company. That must say a lot about the principle of it that I’d rather incur a larger payment due than deal with this type of experience.

"Buggy website"

Horrible and buggy website. Poor customer service. I've been relatively happy with the Docs I've encountered but the website and customer service needs a lot of work. The docs often get prescriptions wrong and getting them corrected is a nightmare.

"Just go to urgent care - Useless, a waste of $50"

We decided to use their service when our young child complained of ear pain tonight and my husband remembered reading on their website that this was a condition they could treat. I was skeptical. It seemed strange to me that an in-person visit wouldn't be needed for something like an ear infection, but I checked the site and saw that it did advertise being able to treat children's ear pain. Maybe the circumstances and symptoms will be sufficient to diagnose it (just had a cold, irritable, clutching her ear)? Maybe they'll take her history into account (many ear infections)? The idea that I could get antibiotics to treat the infection, without waiting until morning, was appealing. So we spent the time setting up an account, filled out the pre-visit details, and authorized a $50 copay... All for a doctor to tell us we should take her to a doctor in the morning. She suggested Tylenol/ibuprofen for pain, which we had indicated in the appointment details that we'd already done (and any parent already knows). I'll admit that it makes sense for kids to be seen in person for an ear infection, but then why are you advertising that you can treat them if you really can't?? If you see someone trying to book an appointment for ear pain for a young patient and you know you won't be able to offer much, how about sharing that disclaimer before you let them proceed with the appointment? There was zero value to this consultation - a waste of my time and $50. It was even worse than my first experience with MDLive, where they ignored the insurance information I'd given them and charged me the non-insurance rate for my visit. It was a billing nightmare that cost me 2 hours back and forth on the phone with BCBS & MDLive to finally get them to resubmit the claim and another two months to be refunded for the erroneous charge. Never again.

"MDlive is a complete scam"

MDlive is a complete scam. The doctors are trying to get fast money without even helping the patient, I hope people think twice before purchasing even one session. I tried a couple of online Doctor apps because I was so sick to even take myself to the dr. I ask the dr. on MDlive to video chat with me so he could see how physically sick I was at the time. He refused to even video chat with me. He refused to prescribe me anything. I made several reports about the situation and every time MDlive stated they did nothing wrong.

"WASTE OF TIME"

My first meeting on MDLive was great. The second one the phone call didnt even go through and I was charged a $50 fee because the call didnt ring through on my end. I tried to asked them if they could fix it or try to push me through to my doctor so I could get a medication refill then suggest I spend another $100 to talk to two other doctors... WASTE OF TIME

"Clueless Dermatologist"

I went to Honduras and got really bad bug bites. While there I got Zyrtec and when I came home I got benadryl. I mentioned that to the MDLive people before my appointment. Without an actual LIVE dermatologist speaking to me, I was prescribed the same exact ineffective treatment I've been using. They're a scam and money grab. Do yourself a favor and just go to an in person doctor that you can speak to and that can touch and see what's going on.
