"horrible and unprofessional doctor"

A horrible, unprofessional doctor who gave me very bad medical advice caused to more health issues. The whole visit lasted around 5 minutes. The doctor was walking around and I could only see the top of his head. He didn't listen and did the opposite of what I asked for. The doctor was rude and unknowledgeable. When I contacted their office they told me to pay again instead of apologizing for their horrible service. Don't use their doctors!

"Poor telehealth experience in the post COVID era"

First impressions with this service have left a very bad taste in my mouth. I am a telehealth provider and know the importance of presenting myself as a professional. All providers should be well versed in how to present themselves in the post-COVID era. Dr McGuiggin’s face was never entirely visible during the entire visit and she never once looked at the camera. The lighting in the room was bright, but poorly positioned to enhance the presence of the provider. I could barely hear the provider and the sound was at its highest level on my computer. It was clear that the room from which Dr McGuiggin was conducting the appointment was not designated as an office, as I saw an exercise bike in the background.
As for the care, I would not recommend Dr McGuiggin to anyone. I attempted to contact my regular provider to deal with my issue; and issue that I have dealt with many times in the recent past. Dr. McGuiggin wanted to prescribe and antiquated antibiotic instead of the antibiotic that I have found to work well for my particular issue. Dr McGuiggin’s excuse was that the antibiotic that I had asked for was experiencing a national shortage. As a provider, I confirmed after our call that what Dr McGuiggin had told me was not true. She refused to prescribe a steroid taper to augment the antibiotic therapy and suggested that I go to my regular provider for this. In retrospect, urgent care would have been a better option

"Zero help"

Zero. Help.
I guess because it’s a $0 copay with my company - we don’t get help?
When you tell the doctor that you get bronchitis, at least twice a year… That you never get a fever, and are taking Mucinex and Sudafed and he turns around and says oh, because you don’t have a fever - it’s viral.
I. NEVER. GET. A. FEVER.
Then he suggest that you take Mucinex.
I. JUST. TOLD. YOU. I. AM.

I feel like death and began to cry and his reaction was I’m sorry I upset you.

I’ve used this app twice with zero help. Who has extra money, or hours to deal with office staff and excessive wait times, to go see a doctor?? I simply said I’m sorry to have wasted your time and hung up.

What a useless, time wasting (he was also 15 minutes late to call for the appointment time I scheduled), sorry excuse for a medical HELP app.

I would give MD, live zero stars if I could. To say, I have been less than impressed, would be an exaggeration. Now I sit and wait for their basic reply to ALLLLL the 1 star reviews - please email us at letushelp at mdlive.com. {insert eye roll here}

"Rightfully owed a refund"

MD Live charged me for a tele-visit in December 2022, without my consent. I have been in contact with them requesting a full refund since the charge was withdrawn from my account for going on two months now. It is (as of today) February 2023 and I still have yet to receive my rightful refund. I also have documentation stating the withdrawal of funds from my account without my consent was in fact a mistake on their behalf, but still have yet to receive my refund. When I call, I get the run around and although my request has been "expedited" I still have yet to receive any real action or resolution. Be very weary of this source of care b/c they have no hesitation taking your money but every excuse to return it.

"This was the worse experience of seeing…"

This was the worse experience of seeing a doctor, I have ever had. My appointment was for 4:30. I got a call fifteen minutes after; than I was told I would be connected to a doctor. I was placed
on hold waiting for a doctor for over 50 minutes. I was forgotten about I never talked to a doctor.

"Laughable customer service provided by…"

Laughable customer service provided by Jaqueline on the back end of terrible communication from the Health Care professional.

Certainly would not recommend, called in at 9AM and finally got a prescription written for simple antibiotics at 3PM after 4 phone calls. Sad to see such a simple process become a nightmare of an experience on top of being sick!

"Go to a proper doctor that cares, this isn't it."

Doesn't even deserve one star. My insurance offers this as a benefit, thankfully free, so I used it. Absolute waste of time. Doctor told me I had a "cold" and "a tickle" in my throat and told me to take Delsym (which I told her I had been taking) and reminded a patient that's probably older than the doctor that colds take 7-10 days to resolve. Basically the more professional way of "suck it up, baby". That was Monday morning. Wednesday morning I went to a proper doctor who determined that my *cold" and "the tickle" in my throat was a respiratory infection and prescribed an antibiotic, one rescue inhaler, one nasal steroid inhaler, and one steroid and long acting beta agonist inhaler. Sounds like an awful lot for a "cold*, doesn't it. MD Live must get some sort of incentive from the insurance companies to convince patients that they're not sick enough to need prescriptions and the insurance companies are all about sticking it to the premium payers. There is no way MD Live's star rating isn't astroturfed to the moon and back to be rated as good. All the detailed reviews tell a different story. Don't trust them to take care of you because they won't, they'll just waste your time and wag their finger at you like you're a child that's whining too much.

"Horrible"

Horrible! I was told they couldn’t help me but charged me $82 for 30 seconds of their time. I asked for a refund and no one got back to me. What a waste!

"I thought I was making out ok because…"

I thought I was making out ok because this service was pushed on me through my insurance (BCBS of TX).

I was very wrong.

I was receiving absolutely no benefit for having BCBSTX. I had to pay $175 per visit with no reduced charge for follow-ups, both appointments were less than 10 minutes and they keep the med scripts short so that you have to have another appt within a few weeks to a month. The second appointment for me was terribly disappointing — Doctor was late, made me late for work, appt was rushed and it seemed like he just wanted to get off the call. All for another months’ meds. I finally decided after a lifetime of depression to try some antidepressants and boy am I regretting my decision.

I have since gone through Zocdoc and found out that even WITHOUT insurance I could have gone through them for $140 for the first session and $99 for follow ups. That’s WITHOUT insurance so I’m excited to see what that looks like WITH insurance.

BCBSTX and MDLive both steered me wrong. Don’t be like me. I’m out $350 precious dollars.

EDIT: after Mdlive left me a comment on this review with an email address, I emailed them and have not heard back. It’s been a few days now. So they just auto reply to any negative reviews but don’t intend to follow through. Meanwhile, I had my appointment through Zocdoc today and it went very well, aside from some slight technical difficulties, and was significantly cheaper.
