"Awesome expedition to Antarctica and South America…"

Had an awesome expedition to Antarctica with my adult son booked through Eclipse, it was delayed twelve months because of Covid but worth the wait. We also enjoyed time in Argentinian Patagonia before this, I highly recommend it. Before this Matt from Eclipse organised a month long trip to Peru, Brazil and Argentina for me as a solo traveller after two tour companies cancelled tours. Everything was amazing and the tour representatives in all countries turned up on time and were friendly, even altering plans in Peru when a Strike was called before I knew there was one. Highly recommend Eclipse.

We are a retired couple, who visited Mexico for the first time, using Eclipse Travel, in November 2022. Their Mexico Explorer itinerary suited us, and we were able to make itinerary changes regarding extra days and change of transport. We found the level of accommodation, the standard of guides and the attention to detail to be of a very high standard. Aside from a small glitch with a local operator at the start, everything went smoothly for us. As experienced travellers, we were confident in handling local idiosyncrasies in a new culture. However, for travellers new to Mexico, we think more advice should be given regarding the tipping culture, buying a local sim card, and generally what food differences to expect. Thanks to Shae, our Eclipse Travel consultant, for a very well organised and enjoyable trip.

The travel company Eclipse uses in South America didn’t meet us as expected twice. Had to ring them and we got an explanation that the driver had an accident on the way to pick us up. The car looked fine when we saw it so we don’t know whether this was true or not. No explanation offered about the other time.
The hotel we were booked into in Buenos Aires this time( Kenton Palace) had a great location but Eclipse said they charged for changing a booking. The facilities were a bit lacking in the hotel. We stayed there twice- before and after an Antarctic cruise. The standard room we had on our second stay in our opinion was far better value than the suite. Loved the Estancia tour and Shae’s recommendation to go to Colonia.
