"First time buying a car online"

First time buying a car online, it was a relatively simple transaction. You miss the personal touch and you might want to test drive the car, but generally the process is good. It took a little longer than I hoped but the communication was reasonable enough.

"Never again."

I had been searching for a car online and found the right one, but at the other end of the country. Delivery would have been a silly amount so decided against it.

Discovered heycar website and realised the very one I'd been interested in was listed there but with free delivery. Amazing! Or not, as I discovered...

Read up on the process and discussed with the dealership who knew little about the company, but who turned out to be most helpful when compared to heycar.

You will likely have lots of communication and phone calls and prompt emails until the deposit is paid and deal is signed, then expect silence.

After this, they were almost uncontactable "someone will call you tomorrow" excuse went on for over a week and no delivery date set. I really thought I'd been scammed.

Only when I considered pulling out of the sale did they finally begin arranging delivery. This took almost another week and the date and time being pushed back.

Car was eventually delivered 4 hours late, without a v5 new keeper slip, which they say is normal. The tax reference given did not work so I was still unable to drive it until sorted with DVLA.

A month after delivery, I then receive a letter from a nearby City Council office with unpaid parking ticket, thanks to the delivery driver making an unexplained visit during those missing four hours. I can only imagine he took parking ticket off the windscreen and binned it, hence me getting notified a month later.

Currently pursuing heycar/delivery company to settle this charge, which marks an end to this sorry tale.

I read from other reviews here heycar promising to follow up, which I doubt will happen. Didn't feel that any of my issues were taken seriously, probably that this is the norm. Failed to qualify for their fuel card promotion, which could have been a way to put things right considering the experience I had.

Love the car, hated this whole process.

"An eye opener"

I recently used Hey Car in my search for a used car, but l was unaware, perhaps naivety on my part, that they're "middle men". I thought that I was buying a vehicle directly from them, but l wasn't. I was directed to a dealership over 450 miles away. When l was contacted by the salesman at the dealership, he like me was unaware of how far apart we were. When we discussed the vehicle being delivered to me free of charge he was completely unaware of this. Whether that was a fault at his end or HeyCar's he wasn't sure.
Unfortunately my circumstances changed and l wasn't able to complete the purchase.

"We paid for our car 10 working days ago…"

We paid for our car 10 working days ago and still do not have a date for delivery. We were told the date may slip as the car needed 2 keys so they were waiting for a second key. This should have been checked before we bought if it was to impact on delivery. We have tried contacting customer service and are still awaiting a response. If we do not receive the car soon we will have to pull out as we cannot go indefinitely without a car!

"My partner placed a order for a car and…"

My partner placed a order for a car and was advised that it could take upto 10 days for her to recive it as it needed to be prepared, but we had already been to the dealership before placing the order online and was told by the sales man that the car was merchaniley and cosmeticly ready to go. The day of the delivery we were advised that the car would be delivered around 1pm that day, on the day about 1330 I called the transport company who advised me that the car would not be delivered due to the train strikes but did confirm they confirmed the Friday delivery 2 days prior, so at this point we cancelled the order as my partner had been without a car for a couple of weeks. Heycar then rang me and said they could get the car delivered by 10pm that night to which my partner said she no longer wanted the car. Heycar emailed us a couple of days later offering my partner £100 in vouchers of her choice to which she replied and let them know which she would like. This all happened in December and she still has not either recived the vouchers or a email confirming when she would get them. They always say don't judge a company by its success judge they by there mistakes.

Lots of choice but the filters were not correct. Requested parking sensors and there were lots without; including the one I requested more info on.
