"I’ve attempted to contact Alder…"

I’ve attempted to contact Alder Security to cancel. I explained that I could not use the system anymore because the firmware could not be updated. I am unable to update the software. I do not want to pay for something I can no longer use. The customer service representative that I spoke with wanted to know if I went with another company and to identify what company that I signed up with, which I DECLINED to ANSWER. Really? You want to ask me if I went with another company and to identify what that company is? I refused to provide that information.

Again, I requested to cancel. I was redirected to the “correct department” to begin cancellation and was on hold for 30 minutes before I finally hung up.

This company SUCKS. Their CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS! Don’t waste YOUR TIME or MONEY on this crooked company. I’ve wasted over $2,000 over a two-year period on a payment plan with no copy of a signed contract and a customer service department that gives me the run-around to a department that I can’t connect to.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR ANYTHING RELATED TO ALDER ALARM SECURITY at ANY of THEIR LOCATIONS. They’ll only scam you!!

"Not customer focused.. Just greedy!"

Their contract has no provisions for cancellation or even moving to a month-to month. Their customer service wanted to extort the remaining part of the contract fee. Refused to even offer alternates to pay a certain amount and terminate. Seems to be a greedy company.

"POOR SERVICh…"

It started 2 years ago with installation. Board holes all over my home, broke the phone and electrical service, and the camera stopped working after they left. Finally got service tec and he said it was lousy install, cameras too far from router, etc. He left without any service.
DO NOT PURCHASE THIS SERVICE!!!!

"Worst customer service ever. For what they give you they are a joke.…"

They're getting one star because they do not give you the option to leave no stars. First of all they overcharged me for the first two years that I was in a contract. I've had them for 7 years now with no contract. But I've had to replace batteries that are $20 a piece and my yard signs are so faded you cannot see them. Over the course of the last year we have set five appointments. The appointment time is like a 5-hour period so basically you have to be home for those 5 hours. Not a single time did anyone show up. The last time they called me 15 minutes before and told me nobody would be coming. They also told me that there was no supervisor and that the supervisor would tell me the same thing so they're just going to go ahead and reschedule it. Barrel without a doubt the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. You get this person that just keeps talking over you and not listening to you or trying to help you. You think you would keep somebody or want to as a value customer that has been there and paid on time for 7 years. But this will be the last month that I pay them. I have never been so ticked off in my entire life. I wasted five and a half hours of my day off for the fifth time today for these people only for them to call me and say nobody's going to make it. We're not advised that you go with these people

"Service is awful"

Service is awful. After spending 10 hours and several day trying to get my issues resolved I tried to cancel but was told the 3 day period had passed. And I would be charged over $3000 to cancel. Still not able to use one of my cameras and it’s been over a year.

"If I could give 0 stars"

If I could give 0 stars, I would. They representative came to my home on 7/25. I thought he was with vivint, at the end I realized he was with a different company. They didn't install cameras, which vivint did on the day they spoke to me. I called today to cancel and they are going to charge me $1000 even though I don't have all of the equipment. I can't afford to pay that. They said the cameras got stolen so they would be back on Friday 7/28. The customer service is awful. I called on 8/8 was on the phone for an hour but they told me there wasn't a manager available so I would have to call back 8/9. Called on 8/9 and was on the phone for an hour. You only have 3 days to cancel or they will charge you a fee. This is crazy. Do not use this company!

"I wish there was a zero star"

If I could give a zero star, I would. In Dec 2022 my system quit working, my phone app quite working and my key fob quit working because it was broken inside. I called, called, called, and I was calling Edge. I had no clue they went out of business. No contact was ever made. I went about March and put a stop payment on my account for them. So all they kept calling for then was late payment. I talked to my senior something or another at Alder. I tried many, many times to contact Edge. I found out it was actually Edge/Alder. You would not believe how many times I tried to contact them and how many ways.. I had one year left on my contract. When the senior manager or something called me, I thought great. Come to find out he was only trying to sell me another system. This is the worse company I've ever dealt with in my life. I even looked up who owned Alder and emailed him to both personal and business emails. Nothing. One thing they taught me was to never in my life will I sign a contract with any alarm company. Go with Simpli Safe. The equipment is not fancy, but it works well. No contract. Zip. I finally got together enough to pay my contract off. And, get this, someone from Alder just called me, 3 August 2023, and they said something garbled and then asked me how my Alder system was working. I told him it sucked and for him to write that down. He asked if I got any help and I said Hell No and don't ever call me again.

"I wish I could not give a star.."

I wish I could not give a star but I had to in order to write a review. So got this system for my new apartment, it started to have problems when I would come home the alarm would go off, it got really annoying. Then, I was thinking it was way too much to pay for monthly and decided I should cancel. Once I got the cancellation fee, it says “$3,131 FOR 60 MONTHS”. I have emailed and called to get my signed documents before I pay this crazy amount of money and they will NOT send them to me. I am very frustrated, and I highly recommend to anyone to not get this security company.

"My mom’s panel is broke and after a…"

My mom’s panel is broke and after a half hour on the phone with me being the technician I was told someone would be out to fix in sixteen days and they would wave the fees why would I be charged a fee?.They also renew your contract without telling you.I have dealt with them on several occasions because I take care of mine and my mom’s. They don’t value their customers once the sign you up they are done with you!Please don’t use this company!

"Small claims court"

I didn't want to give a star,but you have to give a review.How do I get out of this mess?Has anyone else have luck going to small claims court? It has got to be illegal to refuse to give printed instructions on how to work this system.I never had a security system before,and want a Manuel.They have lied saying it was on the way.My alarm goes off,my door camera doesn't work,my smoke alarm goes off.For money,they will send someone out.Did anyone out there get instructions from the salesman? All I got was a welcome pamphlet.
