"I thought I could deal with the pitfalls, I was wrong"
I'm a pretty technical guy and I read a lot of reviews before deciding on Revel at the end of 2018 for my pizza business. A lot of those reviews sounded like they were from people who didn't know how to maintain a local area network or navigate a complex, configurable POS. I figured that if I found those issues, I would reach out to support and they'd take me seriously. Well, that wasn't the case. There are bugs in Revel in the massive feature set they claim to have and so many random pitfalls and usability issues that you'd swear their development team never spent a minute doing usability testing in the field. When I pointed out inconsistencies with their ticket printing, I spent hours on the phone trying to explain the issue only to get "that's as designed" so so so many times. Please, listen to me random person on the internet: this POS is truly terrible.

"STAY AWAY FORM REVEL ADVANTAGE"
Stay away from Revel Advantage, their payment processing division. We signed up and they sent us a wireless chip reader which was very slow and did not work. They then send us an wired one which was also very, very slow. Both were refurbished. I called to complain as these chip readers were just to slow for our operation and was told they were the only options. When i cancelled revel POS with a "client specialist" I was told they would be a $500 cancellation free for Revel Advantage. I let them know that this system was just not working for us and the client specialist said he wish he knew about the problem. I let him know I did and that nothing could be done???? STAY AWAY FROM REVEL ADVANTAGE IF YOU NEED A FAST PAYMENT PROCESSOR...

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Revel is awful. We have technical issues every couple of weeks and can’t get the technical support that they promised! We will sit on the phone for hours waiting for someone in tech support to pickup…sometime they never answer. When they do finally pickup, it’s someone you can barely understand from Pakistan and by that time we’ve have to close our doors and stop doing business, losing thousands of dollars. It’s the worst experience I’ve ever had with any company. Don’t be fooled. Walk about from the POS…it literally is a POS.

RIP OFF! They will promise you that it is on a month to month basis then secretly include a hidden 36 months clause. They will still charge after cancellation request. Horrible liars and cheaters. Advise: Stay away from these scammers

garbage. I was with revel since February 2014. I have now clover. Revel is junk ! They are also a scam BTW. They tried to force me to use their CC processing and I refused and dumped them. Expensive junk! Stay far away from this company

"Worse than a used car salesman with a lemon."
I’ve been trying for weeks to purchase this POS but I’ve either been completely ignored or had bullying tactics used to get me to sign up by the end of the week without first answering some basic questions I have. I feel like I’m dealing with a used car salesman who knows he has a lemon on his hands. Revel - get a clue. If you’re an honest business with a solid system, you shouldn’t have to hide or lie about your pricing, ignore potential customer’s questions, or make people pay for equipment they don’t think they need.

Continues to be a joke of a service. Use Aloha, or any other legitimate POS service, they rope you into a subscription and then raise prices while not offering you what they pretend to have. . . .

"Revel are overpriced and complicated"
Revel are overpriced and complicated. We ran Revel in our cafe for over 2 years and during that time I was regularly on the phone to Tech support for help. The system itself was fairly stable and tech team were great. The reason for the 1 star review is that they take money without permission and then take ages to give it back, if at all. The accounts team is overseas and never available during business hours. They are difficult to deal with but mostly just take money they have not right to.

"Overpriced and Scammers"
Overpriced and don't deliver on their promises. They want you to sign 3 year contracts for every piece of equipment you use. The buy out of contract is the remaining months of contract plus 3 months. Obviously they do not stand by their products and services. I have used for a few years and now am stuck for 2 more years or have to pay $4900 to get out of contract. System itself is OK but they roll new products out without testing fully and you deal with the issues. I tried the online store and had to roll it back after a couple months because of customer complaints they couldn't figure out how to use. The one bright point is if you have an issue with POS, you can call and immediately get someone on the phone to fix. That to me is the only good thing from Revel. Everything else has been shady from them. Also, while other POS systems are waiving monthly fees and offering other products for free to help your struggling business during COVID19, Revel made it extremely difficult to communicate with (they only would take emails for this no phone calls for only this issue), they finally offered only a small discount for one month. Not much help when your business is hardly open due to a world pandemic. Doesn't seem to me they are partners in your success as a small business owner. In retrospect, I wished I would have gone with another POS vendor. Be careful if you are thinking of using Revel and read the fine print.

"Revel have started charging monthly…"
Revel have started charging monthly fees on the system before we have been set up. Having explained the shop has had planning difficulties and delayed. I’m absolutely disgusted they are hiding behind small print in the contract rather than being genuine and helpful. Disgusting conduct of business, not a happy customer even before using the system!
