"No Response to Safety-Critical Vehicle Complaint After 4+ Weeks"
I lease a Tesla Model 3 with ALD. The car experienced a complete steering failure on October 19th - a serious safety incident that nearly caused an accident. After 4+ weeks:
- No complaint handler assigned
- No communication or updates provided
- Continuing to collect full monthly lease payments while vehicle unusable
- DVSA now investigating the safety issue
- Have had to arrange and pay for a rental car with no clarity on reimbursement from either ALD or Tesla
- MOT/insurance renewal approaching with no resolution path
The concerning part is not just the vehicle fault (which is very serious), but ALD's complete lack of response to a safety-critical situation. As a business customer, I expected basic communication and complaint handling processes to be followed. But all they're doing is stating their statutory 8 weeks response time.
Currently being charged for a vehicle I cannot safely use (and have rejected) while having to pay additional rental costs.
Multiple attempts to get updates have been ignored.
I would strongly advise other business customers to consider how ALD handles serious issues before entering into a lease agreement with them.
