"Applied wood and metal silk paint to…"

Applied wood and metal silk paint to wood surfaces in bedroom. Now only have to lightly touch or rub and it comes off, sugar soaped, washed with hot water etc prior to application. Now the carpet fitters have been in most of it has come off. Never known anything like it. Used Dulux in a separate room and none has come off. Going to have to try to sand off and use something else, problem is the carpet is now down. Will never buy any Valspar paint again, woefully poor product, cost me £50 and now Ive hours of sanding and repainting with a Dulux paint with the worry of recking a new carpet.

"Useless paint avoid st all costs"

We purchased the premium matt emulsion as we were told it was scubbable. The coverage is appauling, we used an undercoat and after a further 2 coats it looked horrendous. I contacted Valspar customer services who didn't seem to have a clue. I had to answer loads of questions and send photos. They finally agreed to send a voucher but that took 5 days to arrive. I had to buy more before it arrived as we had someone coming to fit flooring. It has now had 5 coats and is still patchy. Plus it's supposed to be matt but it's got a sheen to it. You only have to touch it and it leaves a white mark and if you try to sponge that off the sponge is covered in the paint colour. We may have to end up wall papering over it. A complete disaster and the worst paint I have ever come across. Please save yourself a lot of trouble and buy Dulux instead

"Dreadful stuff"

Dreadful stuff! Just finished neatly painting a wall over 2 days with this £45 for 2.5L supposedly high quality product, and as I’m removing the last of the masking, it peels the whole corner away as if it’s wallpaper! What an absolute waste of time and money now to fix this. I’ve had a similar issue previously with Valspar but put it down to a prep issue but this time no excuses, the Dulux on the opposing wall has stuck perfectly but this stuff is just poor quality paint.

Dead flat Matt… more like dead crap Matt! Absolutely furious! Avoid this product!

"Paint okay but not worth the hassle of the lid"

I decided to try Vaspaar paint after previously trying dulux ( waste of time) and Coat ( amazing but expensive) I have found the quality of the Vaspaar paint to be livable for the price. I have a whole house to paint and would have continued with Vaspaar but have decided that the Coat paint is worth buying because the lid on the Vaspaar paint is so utterly ridiculous. I hurt my hand trying to get it off and now it won't go back on.

"This stuff has just cost me a day's…"

This stuff has just cost me a day's money. The coverage is rubbish. 1-2 coats it says on the tin. Rubbish. It is going to need 4 or 5!
I will now be changing my T&Cs to stop my clients supplying this paint to me to decorate their houses.

"Terrible coverage "

Just bought Valspar Classic Matt to paint living room today at £42 for a 5L you would expect good coverage. It’s actually shocking my husband has had to go over the walls 4 times it just does not go on well at all. The coverage is the worst we’ve experienced and we usually buy cheaper brands. We will probably have to go buy more as we are committed to the colour now. I feel cheated as thought we were buying a quality product.

"I do a lot of painting "

I do a lot of painting , decided to try Valspar white emulsion recently and TBH its aweful very poor quality needs 3-4 coats to be solid and thats on really good walls over existing white paint which makes the job a pain ,, I will go back to using Armstead trade always gets the job done in 2 coats

"I painted my kitchen units using…"

I painted my kitchen units using Valspar paints. I followed the advice given in store to make sure I got the best finish. However after a couple of weeks the paint started to peel in places. I contacted their so called customer service team who requested photos receipts etc and promised to get back to me asap. 3 weeks later I had heard nothing and called them back only to be told it was being dealt with by someone else and he’d get them to ring me back. After another week of waiting still no response. I phoned the company again and was told it was my fault and the way I had painted the cupboards even though I followed the store’s instructions. I am now stuck with over £100 worth of paint that I purchased for my bedroom cupboards etc that I don’t want to use as it took days to do and looks awful and will need doing again. DO NOT BUY THEIR PRODUCTS!!!!!!

"I'm a professional painter"

I'm a professional painter, and after a couple of bad experiences with Valspar, had another go with their new dead flat range. It was a blue, shade 6 - very dark, but covered very well. 2.5 coats on top of a very chalky base, so adhered well. My very important issue, as someone who uses paint daily - why is this paint so sticky!!?? Even after adding a little water, almost impossible to get a really good line, bearing in mind, my brushes cost around £30 a brush. Also, went cleaning out my pot - I noticed it has a stretchy, plastic feel. I'm really hoping this is does not mean that if caught, it'll peel away!?
