"Dreadful experience using Valspar Premium"

Dreadful experience using this - Valspar Premium. 3 coats so far and 1.5 days wasted. It's massively patchy all over the place with the previous colour showing through. I'm £90 down so far plus my painter's labour. Do not recommend this paint, Valspar and B&Q should be ashamed of putting their names to this. Back to Dulux for me.

We had our paint.emulsion mixed in store. I have never had such a watery paint before. I wondered if was a bad batch but after reading reviews it seems everyone has the same issue. Feel I have poured my money down the drain. Are Valspar adding more liquid to save money. Hope not.

"Don’t waste your money"

I’d like to know why the paint goes on so patchy I prepped the wall and primed it before painting I’ve done my first coat of dried saffron V & Co but looking at it I’m going to have to do at least another 3 coats for it to look better I only bought 2 1/2 litres at £44 per tin to do one wall but I don’t think I’ll have enough please advise why it looks so bad. I have given up on this terrible paint and taken it to the tip, I have now purchased dulux paint which has gone on like a dream. I completely wasted time and money in valspar paints will never use them again

"Wasted my money!! Emulsion is fine but the wood and metal scuffs off"

Got valspar mixed at b&q to a shade from farrow n ball that i liked....Bought the wood and metal paint to do dado rails and staircase...omg wish I hadn't!! It covered lovely but if you catch it with your nail or put keys on the radiator cover top it just scratches straight off!! Wouldnt dare use a cleaning product on it!!@It would be no good for families you'd be touching up every week!!

"Terrible paint - do not recommend"

Terrible paint. After 7 coats the coverage and finish is still poor. Will be returning for a refund as definitely not of satisfactory quality. On the plus side, it was so poor it was easy to remove - see photo

Valspar say they will reach out to me but I have had no contact from them…

"Absolute rubbish"

Absolute rubbish. 7 coats and still not got an even coverage on magnolia and on the blue wall have patches of a range and blue. And what makes this worse is the Valspar colour we are using is a dark orange - should cover any colour with no issues. But no as said 7 coats later and have streaks of old colour and various oranges, along with paint bubbling. It’s just like using a kids water based paint. There is no need to protect your clothes or carpet as a bit of water and the orange comes straight out. And to add to the insult the Valspar paint was 1/3 more than duluxe, only bought it because my son so live the colour. Very disappointed with paint and very frustrated with the waste of my time having continually hoped the next layer would provide the expected colour.

"I went to buy a different brand of dark…"

I went to buy a different brand of dark blue emulsion paint but at B&Q the smallest tin of dulux was 2.5 litres. This would be a complete waste as I was only painting a chimney breast. Valspar had 1 litre pots so I had my colour matched. Well, wish I hadn`t and had read reviews. This paint dried so patchy. I am now on 3rd coat and feel it needs at least one more. It has taken longer to paint the chimney breast than the rest of the room. The colour is fine but the paint was so thin. Back to Dulux I think.

"Water colours?"

Two years ago I had a new kitchen and needed a navy to match my cabinets
Had valspar from my nearest B and Q store
The results were fantastic
So when I needed paint for my next project ( my fire surround) of course I went to B and Q and paid £30 for premium eggshell (the same paint I’d had previously)
Where do I start?
The young lad showed me the paint,he obviously noticed my look of surprise,” don’t worry “
he said “it will dry darker than this”
I got home, I’d already prepped the fireplace in the same way I’d done previously
So I opened the lid to give it a stir
I thought 💭 this is like water!!!!
But I put it on, consistency like water, coverage like water
Streaky, uneven, and so not the right colour
After four coats, I stopped, I was so upset, as it’s the focal point in my living room
I phoned b and q and they’ve told me to phone Valspar
In the mean time, I sanded it back a bit and luckily had some of the navy from two years ago
What a difference in consistency
Put it on, one coat really good, two coats brilliant
Something has gone wrong in these last couple of years
Sadly it seems like many others we’ve paid the price ☹️😡

Quality paint when it finally matches the swatch !

Purchased the expensive furniture paint and shade was way out . I was told by the B&Q team that if I purchased another shade that I liked that valspar would credit the original receipt. I asked if this included my paint and was told yes .

Completed all the forms and Valspar say it doesn’t qualify and the team at b and q say it’s with Valspar. Stitched up, won’t use them again for my renovation business.

"Won’t be risking Valspar again."

Didn’t enjoy the three coats of premium required to paint two doors.
I won’t buy again.
