Valspar Paint

"Worst paint I have ever used"
Worst paint I have ever used. I will never use it again; It takes numerous coats as it is very splotchy

"Terrible holes in my wall. Rubbish paint."
Wish I could add photos. Valspar paint has ruined my wall which was replastered a few weeks ago. Paint just bubbles and you can pull it off like a skin. There were a few bubbles with the first coat. Sanded it down, left it a week. Second coat even worse. I have no damp, no direct sunlight. There is no reason for this to happen. Just wasted a whole day painting my kitchen. And tomorrow, I will have to sand it all down and go and buy more paint and start again. B&Q you have let me down.

"They own Cabot products now and I have…"
They own Cabot products now and I have used twice and it is peeling off the deck after a month and half. The first time they said does not work cause you did not sand. Now after I sanded entire deck and pressure washed and two coats, the company is giving me a difficult time for a refund. Down 1400.0 on labor also do not use Cabot deck paint stains.

"Really wish we'd checked on here before…"
Really wish we'd checked on here before buying this paint brand from B&Q. Incredibly poor paint - just starting 5th coat now and not confident that this will provide a final finish. Unbelievably patchy coverage - would avoid!

"An expensive mistake"
I used a deep red colour to paint my bathroom. I was painting onto a well prepped plaster that had been given a couple of coats of thin white base coat to avoid all the paint being quickly absorbed. I bought the special bathroom paint from Valspar.
I had to paint 7 coats to get enough pigment and an even finish. 7 coats!!! And when the bathroom gets steamy you can see streaky marks in the finished paintwork from. An expensive mistake.

"14'x16'x15' it took 3 gallons of paint…"
14'x16'x15' it took 3 gallons of paint and I still need another coat ,unbelievable ,what turned out to be a simple job it cost me 3 times more on labor.
if you want to talk about it I'll show you my pictures.

"I can't even get the tin open!"
I can't even get the tin open!! Been trying for half an hour, what is the trick because I'm going to take this back to the shop and give up soon. This was recommended by B&Q but I can't even get to the paint, it's ridiculous!

"Awful product, please remove from sale"
Recently bought kitchen and bathroom emulsion for my bathroom, terrible paint, should be taken from sale, patchy after 2 or three coats, does not stick and after first shower condensation runs all over the bathroom permanently marking it.
Do not buy this paint, also valspar are not interested in re embursing or compensation as it cost me hundreds in hired labour and re doing with dulux that went on perfect.

"AVOID"
We bought 5 different colours to decorate when we moved in a couple of months ago. I wish I read reviews first! It took 3 or 4 coats in each room on white walls which had been washed down with a sugar soap solution. The first coats were terrible and patchy and I just assumed it was the walls and kept going. The paint does not stick properly either, the slightest knock and it takes paint off the wall! I took masking tape down that I used to do the edging and one part just TOUCHED the wall and that pulled paint off!
I had to buy a 2.5l tin to finish one room as it took that much to paint 3 walls in one room, I mentioned to the mixer in B&Q and he didn’t seem surprised at all in his reaction even though he didn’t comment! Wish I went for any other brand, I will probably end up redecorating every room wasting a fortune on this shoddy paint that has already cost too much!

"Worth the money"
Worth the money. We've used the premium paint with our own colour. It holds up well to scuffs etc and cleans easy with no damage. We have used it for the whole house and so far no issues. Easy to apply with hardly any splatter and gives good coverage. A pleasure to use. It's the only finishing paint we'll use.
