"Bad not even remotely like the same…"

DO NOT BUY!! Bad not even remotely like the same colour I picked. When I took it back to BnQ Hull Stoneferry I was met with a very defensive manager from the paint desk who very bluntly and rudly told me there’s nothing she can do. There is good reason for all these bad reviews. BAD PRODUCT, BAD SERVICE.

As a professional decorator I have given this paint a go 3 times now.

Each time take 5+ coats to get ok standard of finish.

Around 7.5litres for a standard bedroom is shocking.

Never again advise all customers not to use this brand. 2x labour required

Bought from B&Q Valspar brilliant white soft sheen suitable for kitchens and bathrooms. Followed the instructions to the letter.
In 40 years of DIY this has to be the worst paint I've ever come across. Very patchy even after 3 coats.
Never again, will pay extra next time for a different brand.

"Don't buy!"

Paint was mixed and a great colour. Painstakingly 3 coats later the walls looked awful and no even coverage no matter how many hours you leave it to dry and how many coats you could still see patches. I took back to b&q for a refund and showed images - you don't have to go back to the manufacturer. I don't understand how this company can still trade looking at similar reviews. The manager at b&q has said it's been a recurring issue especially with dark paint.

"Using Valspar premium paint"

I am a professional decorator,and have had the unfortunate experience if using Valspar paint many times( customers have already purchased this paint before I have started), so you can probably see that I would not recommend this product. I have just decorated my sons lounge and dining room and unfortunately he bought Valspar premium for 2 feature walls. I prepared walls and put on a basecoat. 3 coats of the Valspar later and I am still left with a patchy finish,which I have experienced before. Waste of money. Will always advise customers not to use this paint.

"The worst paint I have ever used"

I've only given this one star because minus options aren't available.
This custom paint (Valspar Premium Eggshell) is genuinely the worst paint I have ever used in decades of painting. It dries patchy despite extensive stirring and is incredibly prone to late sagging on anything other than horizontal surfaces. I am going to take it to the recycling centre and self fund another genuinely premium brand as I can't afford the time to keep rubbing it down to try to get a decent finish.
At forty odd pounds for 2.5 litres it's a travesty. Vile stuff. Never, ever, again.

"Without Prejudice"

Without Prejudice. Valspar Paint is sold only through B&Q. Both companies conceal the fact that none of the paint purchased can be returned. They claim that this is because all complaint is mixed to order. I can understand this. However, this fact that ALL Valspar pain is mixed to order is not made remotely explicit on either the Valspar nor the B&Q website. The impression is given that they are selling stock colours, (as would be the case with any other paint stockists), and hence returnable. I have raised this with two separate solicitors commercial litigation specialists, whom reviewed the website. Both expressed an opinion that this is at best overtly duplicitous practice, at worst illegal. I will be seeking further advice from here.

"Very disappointing!"

I've loved Valspar paint for years, always found it brilliant. However, a few months ago I painted one of my rooms with Premium Matte (which is supposed to be scrubbable) - and I find it comes off on the cloth even with a gentle-ish wipe ... revealing the colour of the emulsion paint underneath. I've always done my own decorating, but have never come across this before. The assistant at my local B & Q was unable to help .... maybe a bad batch, but it's really put me off Valspar paints!

"Do not buy Valspar paint"

This is by far the worst paint I have ever used! Two coats in and it is a horrible patchy mess and I think it will probably need 4 coats or more in total. Coverage is a joke and it splatters every were. This is the second time I have used Valspar but last time I only bought the standard emulsion so this time I bought the premium one and it is just as bad and very expensive. With this many bad reviews trading standards should be getting involved as the product is clearly not fit for purpose. Why are you still selling this rubbish B and Q. Save yourself, time, money and hassle and don't buy it.

"…Don't Use! Poor opacity, and coverage"

My father always used Valspar paint back in the 70's. He told me it was a very good paint. I have used the Valspar white trade Satin paint for wood and metal. It is a complete disaster. Although I stir the paint all the time, the paint is thin with poor opacity and the result of 2 coats is patchy and runs easily. You have to work quickly and can't overbrush. Its left a rough and poor finish. I will have to sand it all down and go back to Dulux. What a waste of time and money. So disappointed.
